Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) is a chronic inflammatory cholangiopathy that results in fibrotic strictures and dilations of the intra- and extrahepatic bile ducts. PSC is uncommon, occurs predominantly in males and has a strong association with inflammatory bowel disease.
