Bis[hexa-amminecobalt(III)] penta-chloride nitrate.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Co(NH(3))(6)](2)Cl(5)(NO(3)), was obtained under hydro-thermal conditions. The asymmetric unit contains three Co(3+) ions, one lying on an inversion center and the other two located at 2/m positions. All Co(3+) ions are six-coordinated by NH(3) mol-ecules, forming [Co(NH(3))(6)](3+) octahedra, with Co-N distances in the range 1.945?(4)-1.967?(3)?Å. The nitrate N atom and one of the O atoms lie at a mirror plane. Among the Cl(-) anions, one lies in a general position, one on a twofold axis and two on a mirror plane. N-H?O and N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds link the cations and anions into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, Na(3)(C(6)H(15)N(5)O)(2)[Al(OH)(6)Mo(6)O(18)](2)Cl·20H(2)O, the [Al(OH)(6)Mo(6)O(18)](3-) polyoxo-anion has a B-type Anderson structure exhibiting approximate D(3d) symmetry. There are two types of sodium cations: the Na(+) cations of type I have a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry formed by six O atoms and are statistically distributed over two positions with equal occupancies, while the coordination polyhedra of the two Na(+) cations of type II share one Cl anion located on an inversion center. The latter fragment, containing a Cl anion and two sodium cations, links two polyoxoanions into centrosymmetric blocks. The diprotonated 1-[imino-(morpholino)meth-yl]guanidinium cations and uncordinated water mol-ecules contribute to extensive N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding, resulting in the formation a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

Project description:The title compound, [Co(III)(NH?)?]?[Co(II)(C?O?)?]?Cl·12H?O, was synthesized under hydro-thermal conditions. The asymmetric unit comprises two [Co(NH?)?]³? cations, one located on a threefold axis and the other on a site of symmetry -3, a [Co(C?O?)?]?? anion, located on a threefold axis, one sixth of a chloride anion [disordered over two sites, one threefold (site occupancy = 0.5) and the other -3 (site occupancy (0.25)] and two water molecules. Both Co(III) centers are six-coordinated by NH? mol-ecules, forming [Co(NH?)?]³? octa-hedra, with Co-N distances in the range 1.958?(2)-1.977?(3)?Å. The title structure gives the first example of the [Co(C?O?)?]?? anion, with the distorted octa-hedral environment of Co(II) center formed by six O atoms from three oxalate residues. The Co-O bond lengths are 2.0817?(18) to 2.0979?(18)?Å. Multiple N-H?O, N-H?Cl and O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the cations, anions and water mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network.

The crystal structure shows several close H⋯F contacts between the hexa-fluorido-phosphate counter-ions and the C5Me5 ligands.

The Bi(III) cation is coordinated by six Cl(-) anions in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The diprotonated piperazine ring adopts a chair conformation. In the crystal, extensive inter-molecular N-H?Cl, N-H?O and O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds occur.

Crystal structures of the penta- and hexa-hydrate of thulium nitrate.

Project description:Tm(NO3)3·5H2O and Tm(NO3)3·6H2O, or more precisely [Tm(NO3)3(H2O)4]·H2O and [Tm(NO3)3(H2O)4]·2H2O, respectively, have been obtained from a concentrated solution of Tm2O3 in HNO3. The crystal structures of the two hydrates show strong similarities as both crystallize in space group P with all atoms at general positions and contain neutral, mol-ecular [Tm(NO3)3(H2O)4] complexes, i.e. ten-coordinated TmIII cations with three nitrate anions as bidentate ligands and four coordinating water mol-ecules, and one or two additional crystal water mol-ecules, respectively. All building units are connected by medium-strong to weak O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Tm(NO3)3·6H2O represents the maximally hydrated thulium nitrate as well as the heaviest rare earth nitrate hexa-hydrate known to date.

Poly[[hexa-?-cyanido-manganese(II)iron(III)] penta-hydrate].

Project description:The structure of the title compound, Mn(II)[Fe(III)(CN)(6)](2/3)·5H(2)O, features a face-centered cubic -Mn-NC-Fe- framework with both Mn and Fe having site symmetry mm. Since one-third of the [Fe(CN)(6)](3-) units are missing for a given formula in order to maintain charge neutrality, each Mn atom around such a vacancy is coordinated not only by the N atoms of the CN groups but also by the O atoms of the ligand water mol-ecules. In addition to ligand water mol-ecules, two types of non-coordinated water mol-ecules, so-called zeolitic water mol-ecules, exist in the inter-stitial sites of the -Mn-NC-Fe- framework. The positions of the O atoms of the zeolitic water mol-ecules are fixed by the linkage via hydrogen bonds between ligand water and zeolitic water mol-ecules. The structure is related to a recently reported rubidium manganese hexa-cyano-ferrate. Site occupancy factors for Fe, C, N are 0.67; for two O atoms the value is 0.83 and for one O atom is 0.17.

In the anion, the In(III) atom is coordinated by six Cl atoms resulting in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. Both metal atoms are located on special positions of site symmetry 2/m. Furthermore, one Cl atom and one N atom are located on a mirror plane. N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds between cations and anions consolidate the crystal packing.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C(4)H(6)N(3)O)(2)[InCl(5)(H(2)O)], comprises two independent cytosinium cations and an aquapentachloridoindate anion. The In(III) ion is in a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. In the crystal, alternating layers of cations and anions are arranged along [010] and are linked via inter-molecular N-H⋯O, O-H⋯Cl and N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, forming sheets parallel to (001). Additional stabilization within these sheeets is provided by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions.

Project description:In the title dinuclear iridium(III) complex, [Ir(2)(C(10)H(15))(2)(C(5)H(5)N(2)S)(2)]I(2), the iridium(III) atoms are bridged by 2-(aminosulfanyl)pyridine(1-) [(2-py)SNH] ligands in a ?-(2-py)SNH-?(2)N(py),N(NH):?N(NH) mode. The dinuclear complex cation lies on a crystallographic inversion center, resulting in a planar Ir(2)N(2) ring with an Ir-N(py) bond length of 2.085?(9)?Å and bridging Ir-N(NH) bonds of 2.110?(9) and 2.113?(9)?Å. The two (2-py)S units have mutually anti configurations with respect to the Ir(2)N(2) ring.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [YbCl2(H2O)6]Cl, was determined at 110 K. Samples were obtained from evaporated aceto-nitrile solutions containing the title compound, which consists of a [YbCl2(H2O)6](+) cation and a Cl(-) anion. The cations in the title compound sit on a twofold axis and form O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds with the nearby Cl(-) anion. The coordination geometry around the metal centre forms a distorted square anti-prism. The ytterbium complex is isotypic with the europium complex [Tambrornino et al. (2014 ▶). Acta Cryst.
