ABSTRACT: In the solvated title complex, [Ni(C(46)H(47)N(6)O(2))]ClO(4)·2CH(4)O, the coordination sphere around the Ni(II) ion can be described as distorted cis-NiO(2)N(4) octa-hedral defined by two phenolate O atoms and four N atoms from the hexa-dentate ligand. An intra-molecular bifurcated N-H?(N,O) hydrogen bond helps to establish the conformation of the complex mol-ecule. In the crystal, the components are connected by O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title Schiff base zinc(II) complex, [Zn(C(13)H(10)ClN(2)O)I(CH(3)OH)], was synthesized by the reaction of 5-chloro-salicyl-aldehyde, 2-amino-methyl-pyridine and zinc iodide in methanol. The Zn(II) atom is five-coordinated by one phenolate O atom, one imine and one pyridine N atom of the Schiff base ligand, one methanol O atom and one I atom, forming a distorted square-pyramidal geometry, with the I atom at the apical site. Project description:The title compound, [Cu2(C9H10NO2)4], is built of discrete centrosymmetric dimers. The Cu(II) atoms are each five coordinated by two deprotonated Schiff base ligands that are bonded differently to the metal atoms. Of the two phenolate O atoms, one is coordinated to one Cu(II) atom, whereas another bridges the two metal atoms. The basal plane of the square pyramid around Cu(II) atoms is formed by the imino N and phenolate O atoms of the bidentate and the monodentate/bidentate Schiff base ligands. The bridging phenolate oxygen occupies the apical position of the coordination sphere with a considerably longer Cu-O bond length. In the crystal, the dimeric mol-ecules pack relative to each other in such a way that the Cu2O2 planes of adjacent dimers are orthogonal.

Project description:In the title complex, [Pd(C16H16NO2)2]·CHCl3, the Pd(II) cation lies on an inversion center. One Cl atom of the CHCl3 solvent mol-ecule lies on a twofold axis and the C-H group is disordered with equal occupancies about this axis with the other Cl atom in a general position with full occupancy. The Pd(II) cation is four-coordinate and adopts a square-planar geometry via coordination of the imine N and phenolic O atoms of the two bidentate Schiff base anions. The N and O atoms of these ligands are mutually trans. The plane of the benzene ring makes a dihedral angle of 73.52?(10)° with that of the meth-oxy-phenolate ring. In the crystal, mol-ecules of the Pd(II) complex are arranged into sheets parallel to the ac plane, and the chloro-form solvent mol-ecules are located in the inter-stitial areas between the complex mol-ecules. Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cu(2)(C(12)H(9)N(2)O)(2)(C(7)H(5)O(2))(2)], contains two independent (2-formyl-phen-olato){2-[(pyridin-2-yl)imino-meth-yl]phenolato}copper(II) mol-ecules that form pseudocentrosymmetric dimers via inter-actions between the Cu and pyridyl N atoms of independent monomers. The square-planar geometry of the Cu atoms in the monomer thus becomes square-based pyramidal in the dimer. The crystal studied was an inversion twin, with unequal populations of 0.353?(17) and 0.647?(17).

Project description:The title complex, [Cu(C(13)H(10)ClN(2)O)(H(2)O)]NO(3)·H(2)O, was obtained by the reaction of 5-chloro-salicyl-aldehyde, 2-(amino-meth-yl)pyridine and copper nitrate in methanol. The first reported polymorph of this complex was triclinic [Liang et al. (2010 ?). Acta Cryst. E66, m40]. The present polymorph crystallized in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c. The Cu(II) ion is in a square planar environment and is coordinated by one phenolate O, one imine N and one pyridine N atom of the tridentate Schiff base ligand and by one water O atom. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked through inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds to form chains along the a axis.
