ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(14)H(18)N(2)O(3)S, the cyclo-hexene ring exhibits a distorted half-chair conformation and its mean plane makes a dihedral angle of 46.18?(8)° with the benzene ring. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via N-H?O, N-H?(O,O) and C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

In the crystal, adjacent mol-ecules are connected via N-H?O hydrogen bonds and weak C-H?O inter-actions, forming supra-molecular layers parallel to (-101).

In both independent mol-ecules, the cyclo-hexene rings adopt envelope conformations but superposition of the two molecules shows that the flap atoms point in opposite directions. In the crystal, N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds inter-connect adjacent mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network. Project description:Five of the atoms of the six-membered cyclo-hexene ring of the title compound, C(17)H(20)O(2), are essentially coplanar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.006?Å), with the sixth (the dimethyl-methyl C atom) deviating from the mean plane of the five atoms by 0.610?(2)?Å. This plane is nearly perpendicular to the cinnamyl portion, the two planes being aligned at 85.1?(1)°. Two mol-ecules are linked by an O-H?O hydrogen bond about a center of inversion. The cyclo-hexene ring is disordered over two directly overlapping positions. As a result, the hy-droxy group and the keto O atom cannot be distinguished from one another.
