(2R,3S,4R)-3,4-Isopropyl-idenedi-oxy-2-(phenyl-sulfonyl-meth-yl)pyrrolidin-1-ol.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(14)H(19)NO(5)S, was prepared by nucleophilic addition of the lithium derivative of methyl-phenyl-sulfone to (3S,4R)-3,4-isopropyl-idene-dioxy-pyrroline 1-oxide. There are four mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. The crystal structure determination confirms the configuration of the chiral centres as 2R,3S,4R. In the crystal, pairs of O-H?N hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into dimers.

Project description:In the title compound, C(11)H(19)NO(5), the five-membered pyrrolidine ring adopts an envelope conformation. The dihedral angles between the carboxyl group plane, the pyrrolidine ring and the meth-oxy group are 59.50?(3) and 62.02?(1)°, respectively. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into chains along [100]. The absolute configuration is assigned in accord with that of (2R,4R)-1-(tert-but-oxy-carbon-yl)-4-hy-droxy-pyrrolidine-2-carb-oxy-lic acid, which was the starting material in the synthesis.

Project description:In the title compound, C(20)H(29)Br(2)NO(8)P(2)S, the pyrrole ring is essentially planar, with a maximum deviation of 0.013?(3)?Å for a C atom. The pyrrole ring is almost orthogonal to the sulfonyl-bound phenyl ring, with a dihedral angle 88.5?(2)°. Both P atoms exhibit distorted tetra-hedral configurations with O-P-O angles widened and O-P-C angles narrowed from the ideal tetra-hedral value. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into centrosymmetric dimers via C-H?O inter-actions, resulting in R(2) (2)(10) graph-set motifs which are further consolidated by R(2) (2)(13) graph-set ring motifs via C-H?O inter-actions, further resulting in chains of mol-ecules running parallel to the c axis; a phosphono O atom is involved in bifurcated hydrogen bonding. Project description:The title compound, C12H20N4O, undergoes a phase transition on cooling. The room-temperature structure is tetra-gonal (P43212, Z' = 1), with the meth-oxy-bornyl group being extremely disordered. Below 213?K the structure is ortho-rhom-bic (P212121, Z' = 2), with ordered mol-ecules. The two independent mol-ecules (A and B) have very similar conformations; significant differences only occur for the torsion angles about the Cborn-yl-Ctetra-zole bonds. The independent mol-ecules are approximately related by the pseudo-symmetry relation: xB = -1/4 + yA , yB = 3/4 - xA and zB = 1/4 + zA . In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected by N-H?N hydrogen bonds between the tetra-zole groups, forming a pseudo-43 helix parallel to the c-axis direction. The crystal studied was a merohedral twin with a refined twin fraction value of 0.231?(2).

Project description:The title compound, C(22)H(25)F(5)N(4)O(9), is a stable penta-fluoro-phenyl ester inter-mediate in the synthesis of novel homo-oligomeric structures containing branched carbon chains. The structure is epimeric to the previously characterized dimeric penta-fluoro-phenyl ester with stereochemistry (3R,4R,5R), which was synthesized using d-ribose as starting material. The crystal structure of the title mol-ecule removes any ambiguities arising from the relative stereochemistries of the six chiral centres. Two hydrogen bonds, bifurcating from the NH group, stabilize the crystal: one intra-molecular and one inter-molecular, both involving O atoms of the meth-oxy groups. The asymmetric unit contains two independent mol-ecules not related by any pseudo-symmetry operators. The major conformational differences are localized, leading to one mol-ecule being extended compared to the other. The collected crystal was twinned (twin ratio is 0.939:0.061), and the azide group is positionally disordered over two positions in one mol-ecule [occupancy ratio 0.511?(18):0.489?(18)].
