The molecular mechanisms that restore intestinal epithelial homeostasis during colitis are incompletely understood. Here, we report that during intestinal inflammation, multiple inflammatory cytokines promote the activity of a master regulator of cell proliferation and apoptosis, serine/threonine kinase CK2.
