Taxonomic study of the genus Thisizima Walker, 1864 in China, with descriptions of two new species (Lepidoptera, Tineidae).

ABSTRACT: The taxonomic study of the genus Thisizima Walker, 1864 is carried out in China. Thisizima subceratellasp. n. and Thisizima fasciariasp. n. are described as new based on the specimens collected in Fujian, Hainan and Hong Kong. Detailed male and female genitalia are described for the first time for the genus. Photographs of adults and genital structures are provided. A checklist of all the described species is included.

Project description:Species of the genus Syntozyga Lower, 1901 (Lepidoptera, Tortricidae, Olethreutinae) from China are studied. Syntozyga apicispinata sp. nov. and S. similispirographa sp. nov. are described, S. pedias (Meyrick, 1920) is recorded for the first time from China, and S. spirographa (Diakonoff, 1968) is newly recorded from the Chinese mainland. Adults and genitalia are illustrated, and a distribution map of the Chinese species is given. Keys to identify the Chinese species of Syntozyga are provided. Species of the genus are well clustered in a neighbor-joining tree based on the sequence data of the COI gene. COI sequences corresponding to the new species and S. spirographa (Diakonoff, 1968) are submitted to BOLD.

Among them, twelve species are described as new: Promalactis bifurciprocessa sp. n., Promalactis convexa sp. n., Promalactis papillata sp. n., Promalactis quadratitabularis sp. n., Promalactis quadriloba sp. n., Promalactis ramispinea sp. n., Promalactis scorpioidea sp. n., Promalactis serpenticapitata sp. n., Promalactis similiconvexa sp. n., Promalactis spinosicornuta sp. n., Promalactis strumifera sp. n. and Promalactis uncinispinea sp. n.; the previously unknown male of Promalactis dimolybda Meyrick, 1935 and female of Promalactis flavescens Wang, Zheng & Li, 1997 are described for the first time; Promalactis albipunctata Park & Park, 1998 and Promalactis dierli Lvovsky, 2000 are newly recorded for China. Adults and genitalia are illustrated.

Project description:Two new species, Sacada dzonguensis N. Singh, Kirti & Ranjan, sp. nov. and S. umtasorensis N. Singh, Kirti & Ranjan, sp. nov., are described from India. Additionally, seven species of the genus Sacada Walker, 1862 are redescribed. A new genus, Pseudosacada N. Singh, Kirti & Ranjan, gen. nov., is described to accommodate Paravetta flexuosa Snellen, 1890 (presently in Sacada). A new combination is established: Pseudosacada flexuosa (Snellen, 1890), comb. nov. Morphologically, the new genus resembles the genus Sacada and can only be diagnosed by the male genitalia. The diagnostic differences are discussed and illustrated along with adults and external male genitalia of related taxa. A world checklist and a key to the Oriental and Australasian species are provided.

Project description:The six species of the genus Andraca Walker hitherto known from China are reviewed, and a new species, Andraca gongshanensis, sp. n., described from Yunnan Province, China. The species Ypsolopha costibasella Caradja, 1939, Ypsolopha nigrofasciata Yang, 1977 and Ypsolopha nigrimaculata Byun et Park, 2001 are recorded from Far East of Russia for the first time. The male genitalia of Ypsolopha nigrofasciata are described and illustrated for the first time, diagnostic genital characters are given.
