Bis(4,4'-sulfanediyldipyridinium) tetra-chloridonickelate(II) dichloride.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, (C10H10N2S)2[NiCl4]Cl2, the Ni(2+) cation is tetra-hedrally coordinated by four chloride anions. Two 4,4'-sulfanediyldipyridinium cations and two non-coordinating chloride anions are connected via N-H?Cl hydrogen-bonding inter-actions into 20-membered rings, in the middle of which are situated the [NiCl4](2-) complex anions. These rings are stacked in the b-axis direction. The Ni(2+) cation is located on a twofold rotation axis, whereas the chloride anions and the 4,4'-sulfanediyldipyridinium cations occupy general positions.

Project description:The title compound, [Zn(H(2)O)(6)]Cl(2)·2C(6)H(12)N(4)·4H(2)O, has been prepared under mild hydro-thermal conditions. The Zn(II) atom, located on a centre of symmetry, is coordinated by six water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The hexa-methyl-enetetra-mine mol-ecule is not coordinated to Zn(II) but links the Zn complexes via three O-H?N hydrogen bonds. The remaining N atom of the hexa-methyl-enetetra-mine mol-ecule is hydrogen-bonded to a solvent water mol-ecule. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H?O, O-H?N and O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds link the components into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(H(2)O)(6)]Cl(2)·2C(6)H(12)N(4)·4H(2)O, was prepared under mild hydro-thermal conditions. The asymmetric unit consists of one half of the [Cu(H(2)O)(6)](2+) cation, a hexa-methyl-enetetra-mine mol-ecule, two solvent water mol-ecules and a chloride ion. The formula unit is generated by crystallographic inversion symmetry. The Cu atom lies on a crystallographic inversion centre. It is in a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination environment. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H⋯O, O-H⋯N and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link the components into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, [Pd(NH3)4]Cl2·4NH3, was crystallized in liquid ammonia from the salt Pd(en)Cl2 (en is ethylenediamine) and is isotypic with [Pt(NH3)4]Cl2·4NH3 [Grassl & Korber (2014 ?). Acta Cryst. E70, i31]. The Pd(2+) cation is coordinated by four ammonia mol-ecules, exhibiting a square-planar geometry. The chloride anions are surrounded by nine ammonia mol-ecules. These are either bound in the palladium complex or solvent mol-ecules. The packing of the ammonia solvent mol-ecules enables the formation of an extended network of N-H?N and N-H?Cl inter-actions with nearly ideal hydrogen-bonding geometry.

An octa-hedral coordination geometry is defined by four water mol-ecules in one plane, and two trans N-atom donors of the nicotinamide ligands. Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, (C(10)H(9)N(2))(2)[Mn(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(3)(H(2)O)(8)](C(8)H(3)O(7)S)(2)·C(10)H(8)N(2)·15H(2)O, consists of dinuclear Mn(II) complex cations, sulfonato-benzene-dicarboxyl-ate trianions, 4-(4-pyridyl)pyridinium cations, uncoordin-ated 4,4'-bipyridine and uncoordinated water mol-ecules. One 4,4'-bipyridine mol-ecule bridges two Mn atoms, forming a centrosymmetric dinuclear complex; the mid-point of the C-C bond linking the pyridine rings of the bridging ligand is located on an inversion center. Each Mn(II) atom is coordinated by four water and two 4,4'-bipyridine mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The Mn(II) atom deviates by 0.591?(5) and 0.209?(2)?Å from the mean planes of the coordinated pyridine rings. In the 4-(4-pyridyl)pyridinium cation, the two pyridine rings are twisted with respect to each other, making dihedral angle of 34.78?(17)°. The uncoordinated bipyridine mol-ecule is also centrosymmetric. One of uncoordinated water mol-ecules has site symmetry 2, and the other uncoordinated water mol-ecule is located close to an inversion center and its one H atom is disordered equally over two sites. Extensive ?-? stacking between pyridine rings is observed and an extensive hydrogen-bonding network of the types N-H?N, O-H?N and O-H?O is present.

Project description:The title compound, {[Co(C10H8N2)2(H2O)2](NO3)2·4H2O} n , (C10H8N2 = 4,4'-bipyridine = 4,4'-bpy) is a layered coordination polymer built up from a cationic square grid extending in (101) enclosing uncoordinating nitrate ions and water mol-ecules. The Co(II) ion has site symmetry 2 and one of the 4,4'-bpy ligands is generated by twofold symmetry [two N atoms and two C atoms lie on the rotation axis and the dihedral angle between the pyridine rings is 45.66 (5)°]. The other 4,4'-bpy ligand is generated by a crystallographic inversion center. The Co(II) ion exhibits a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry defined by two O atoms of two coordinating water mol-ecules and four N atoms from four bridging 4,4'-bpy ligands. The structure is consolidated by O-H⋯O, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound (C(5)H(14)NO)(4)[Cu(2)(CH(3)COO)(4)Cl(2)]Cl(2), consists of a pair of Cu(II) ions bridged by four acetate groups, resulting in a Cu(2)(CH(3)COO)(4) unit, four (3-hydroxy-prop-yl)dimethyl-ammonium cations (two crystallographically independent pairs) and two chloride anions. The Cu atoms at both termini are bonded to chloride anions. The latter are hydrogen bonded to one of the two pairs of crystallographically independent (3-hydroxy-prop-yl)dimethyl-ammonium cations. The Cu(2)(CH(3)COO)(4) unit is located on a crystallographic inversion center, and the geometry around each metal center is close to octa-hedral. The Cl-Cu-Cu angles are nearly linear [177.48?(2)°] and the Cu-O bond lengths are in the range 1.9712?(18)-1.9809?(19)?Å. The Cu?Cu separation between the two acetate-bridged Cu(II) centers is 2.6793?(8)?Å. The packing of the crystal structure is dominated by N-H?Cl hydrogen bonding between the ammonium groups and the chloride anions, as well as by O-H?O and O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. One of the 3-hydroxypropyldimethylammonium cations shows orientational disorder with an occupancy ratio of 0.812?(4): 0.188?(4).

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Pb(2)(C(4)H(5)NO(4))(2)(C(6)H(6)N(4)S(2))(2)]·4H(2)O, the dinuclear Pb(II) complex mol-ecule is centrosymmetric. The Pb atom is chelated by a tridentate imino-diacetate anion (IDA) and a diamino-bithia-zole (DABT) ligand, while a carboxyl-ate O atom from an adjacent IDA anion further bridges the Pb atom with a longer Pb-O bond [2.892?(3)?Å]. The lone-pair electrons of the Pb atom occupy an axial site in the ?-penta-gonal-bipyramidal coordination polyhedron. The IDA anion displays a facial configuration: its chelating five-membered rings assume an envelope configuration. Within the DABT ligand, the two thia-zole rings are twisted relative to each other, making a dihedral angle of 9.51?(17)°. Extensive N-H?O, O-H?O and weak C-H?O hydrogen bonding helps to stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Co(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(4)](ClO(4))(2)·2C(10)H(8)N(2)·2H(2)O}(n), slightly distorted octa-hedrally coordinated Co(II) ions situated on inversion centers are linked into polycationic chains through 4,4'-bipyridine tethering ligands. These are connected into supra-molecular layers by hydrogen bonding involving aqua ligands, perchlorate anions and uncoordinated water mol-ecules. A twofold inter-penetrated primitive cubic supra-molecular network is formed by the inter-action of pseudo-layers by hydrogen bonding between aqua ligands and unligated 4,4'-bipyridine mol-ecules.
