By controlling and limiting inflammatory conditions, naturally occurring regulatory T cells (Tregs), defined as circulating CD4(+)CD25(bright)FoxP3(+) cells, play critical roles in maintaining tolerance and preventing autoimmunity and thus have tremendous potential for adoptive immunotherapy.
