Complete genome sequences of an avian orthoreovirus isolated from guangxi, china.

ABSTRACT: We report the complete genomic sequences of an avian orthoreovirus, strain GuangxiR1, isolated from a chicken flock in Guangxi Province, southern China, in 2000. Phylogenetic analyses suggest that the strain is closely related to the S1133 strain, which is associated with tenosynovitis, but is far different from strain AVS-B, which is associated with runting-stunting syndrome in broilers.

Project description:We report here the complete genomic sequence of the porcine parvovirus (PPV) N strain, isolated in 1989 from the viscera of a stillborn fetus farrowed by a gilt in Guangxi, southern China. Phylogenetic analyses suggest that the PPV-N strain is closely related to attenuated PPV NADL-2 strains. The PPV-N strain has good immunogenicity, genetic stability, and safety.

Project description:We report here the complete genomic sequence of a novel H6N1 avian influenza virus strain, A/Duck/Guangxi/GXd-5/2010(H6N1), isolated from pockmark ducks in Guangxi Province, Southern China. All of the 8 gene segments of A/Duck/Guangxi/GXd-5/2010(H6N1) are attributed to the Eurasian lineage; the amino acid motif of the cleavage site between HA1 and HA2 was P-Q-I-E-T-R-G. These are typical characteristics of the low-pathogenicity avian influenza virus. This study will help to understand the epidemiology and molecular characteristics of avian influenza virus in ducks.

Project description:An avian influenza virus strain, A/pigeon/Hubei/RP25/2012 (H5N1), was isolated from pigeons in Hubei province, China. Phylogenetic analysis indicates that the HA gene belongs to clade 2.3.4 and the other internal genes present different recombination events. Information about the strain provides basic research data for epidemiological evidences for revealing influenza evolution.

Project description:Porcine orthoreoviruses belong to the family Reoviridae and cause mainly mild enteritis in piglets. We present here the complete genome sequence of a novel porcine orthoreovirus strain (GD-1) isolated from a piglet in southern China. Our data will facilitate future investigations of the molecular characteristics and epidemiology of porcine orthoreoviruses.

Complete genome sequences of a novel reassortant H4N2 avian influenza virus isolated from a live poultry market in eastern China.

Project description:A/duck/Shanghai/28-1/2009(H4N2) (DK28) was isolated from a live poultry market in Shanghai, China. Using PCR and sequencing analysis, we obtained the complete genome sequences of the DK28 virus. The sequence analysis demonstrated that this H4N2 virus was a novel multiple-gene reassortant avian influenza virus (AIV) whose genes originated from H1N1, H1N3, H3N3, H4N2, and H4N6. Knowledge regarding the complete genome sequences of the DK28 virus will be useful for epidemiological surveillance.
