Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic inflammatory condition thought to reflect a failure of the enteral immune system to adequately regulate itself. Inflammatory stress drives upregulation of heat-shock proteins (HSPs), including the pro-inflammatory chaperone, HSP90.
