Acyl carrier proteins (ACPs) are a group of highly conserved and abundant proteins in bacteria. ACPs play a central role as the acyl group carriers in bacterial fatty acid biosynthesis, providing building blocks for membrane biogenesis and the production of secondary metabolites.
