Project description:There are two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C9H6N2S, which is an inter-mediate compound of a cardiovascular drug. The two molecules are nearly planar, displaying dihedral angles of 3.5 (2) and 5.7 (2)° between the thiophene ring and the malononitrile moiety. In the crystal, C-H⋯N inter-actions lead to the formation of a sheet structure that packs in a parallel fashion.

Project description:The title compound, C21H13N3O, crystallizes with two independent molecules with similar conformations per asymmetric unit. The dihydrofuran rings are essentially planar with maximum deviations of 0.017?(1) and 0.006?(1)?Å for the O atoms. The dihedral angles between the di-hydro-furan ring and the attached phenyl rings are 79.90?(6) and 82.07?(6)° in one mol-ecule and 79.36?(6) and 72.26?(6)° in the other. In the crystal, the molecules are linked by weak C-H?? and C-H?N inter-actions similar to those in other closely related crystals. The replacement of appended methyl by phenyl groups has not significantly affected the dihydrofuran ring structure or the crystal packing interactions.

In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked by weak C-H?N hydrogen bonds into layers parallel to the bc plane.

Project description:The title compound, C12H11NO3, is essentially planar, with the mean plane of the acetate side chain [-C-C(=O)-O-C] being inclined to the mean plane of the indole ring system by 12.49 (7)°. The five- and six-membered rings of the indole group are almost coplanar, making a dihedral angle of 1.76 (8)°. The conformation about the C=C bond is E and there is an intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bond present. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by pairs of C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds forming inversion dimers, with an R 2 (2)(16) ring motif. The dimers are linked by a second pair of C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, enclosing R 2 (2)(16) ring motifs, forming ribbons lying parallel to (-114). The ribbons are linked via C-H⋯π inter-actions, forming a three-dimensional structure.

The compound has two almost planar fragments linked to the S atom: the isatin-derivative fragment [(C(8)H(5)NO)N-N(H)-] and the tolyl fragment [C(7)H(7)-] have maximum deviations from the mean plane through the non-H atoms of 0.0813 (13) and 0.0094 (16) Å, respectively, and make an inter-planar angle of 80.48 (3)°. Project description:In the title compound, C(31)H(27)N(3), the cyclo-hexene ring has an envelope configuration. In the crystal structure, there is an 34 Å(3) void around the inversion center, but the low electron density (0.13 e Å(-3)) in the difference Fourier map suggests no solvent mol-ecule occupying this void. No hydrogen bonding is found in the crystal structure.
