ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title coordination complex, [Ag2Br2(C5H8N2)2] n , comprises a monodentate 1-ethyl-imida-zole ligand, an Ag(+) cation and a ?3-bridging Br(-) anion, giving a distorted tetra-hedral AgNBr3 stereochemistry about the Ag(+) cation [Ag-N = 2.247?(2)?Å and Ag-Br = 2.7372?(4)-2.7523?(4)?Å]. Two bridging bromide anions generate the dimeric [Ag2Br2(C5H8N)2] repeat unit [Ag?Ag = 3.0028?(5)?Å], while a third Br(-) anion links the units through corner sharing in an inversion-related Ag2Br2 association [Ag?Ag = 3.0407?(4)?Å], generating a one-dimensional ribbon step-polymer structure, extending along the c axis.

Project description:The title complex, [LiBr(C3H6N2)] n , is the unexpected product of a reaction beteween (Dipp)N(Li)SiMe3 (Dipp = 2,6-diiso-propyl-phen-yl), Me2NCN and CuBr. The compound is a one-dimensional polymer with a step structure derived from the association of inversion dimers, formed by bromido ligands bridging two Li(+) cations, each of which carries a di-methyl-cyanamide ligand. The planar (LiBr)2 unit of the polymer core has a regular rhombic shape [Li-Br-Li 77.55 (16)° and Br-Li-Br 102.45 (16)°]. These (LiBr·NCNMe2)2 dimers represent the repeat unit of a polymer system propagated by additional Br-Li and Li-Br bonds generating an infinite step structure along the a-axis direction.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the crystal structure of the title compound, [Cd(2)Cl(4)(C(5)H(8)N(2))(3)](n), contains two Cd(II) cations, three 1-ethyl-1H-imidazole ligands, and four Cl(-) anions. The two Cd(II) atoms have quite different coordination environments: one is octa-hedrally coordinated by four Cl atoms and two N atoms from two 1-ethyl-1H-imidazole ligands, and the second is in a severely distorted fivefold coordination by four Cl atoms and one N atom from a 1-ethyl-1H-imidazole ligand. Adjacent Cd(II) cations are inter-connected alternately by pairs of chloride bridges, generating an infinite step-like chain along the a axis. One ethyl group of the 1-ethyl-1H-imidazole ligand is disordered over two sets of sites with a 0.668?(13):0.332?(13) site-occupancy ratio.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(C(2)O(4))(C(5)H(8)N(2))(2)](n), is composed of one-dimensional linear chains running parallel to the a axis. In the chain, trans-[Cu(imidazole)(2)](2+) units are sequentially bridged by bis-bidentate oxalate ligands, resulting in an octa-hedral CuO(4)N(2) donor set. The Cu⋯Cu separation through the oxalate bridge is 5.620 (5) Å. Both the Cu atoms and the C-C bond of the oxalate bridge are bis-ected by inversion centres.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [HgBr(2)(C(5)H(5)N(3)O)(2)](n), the Hg(II) cation is located on an inversion center and is coordinated by two N atoms from the pyrazine rings and four bridging Br(-) anions in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The Br(-) anions bridge the Hg(II) cations with significantly different Hg-Br bond distances of 2.4775 (8) and 3.1122 (8) Å, forming polymeric chains running along the a axis. Inter-molecular N-H⋯O and N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds are effective in the stabilization of the crystal structure.

The biphenyl-4,4'-dicarboxyl-ate (BPDC) dianions do not coordinate to Ag(I) ions but act as counter-ions. The Ag(I) ions are linked by BBI ligands, forming a zigzag chain. These chains are linked into a two-dimensional supra-molecular architecture by O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between water mol-ecules and carboxyl-ate O atoms of the BPDC dianions.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title polymeric complex, [CuCl(2)(C(3)H(6)N(4)O)(2)](n), was obtained by the Rietveld refinement from laboratory X-ray powder diffraction data collected at room temperature. The unique Cu(II) ion lies on an inversion center and is in a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination environment. In the hydroxy-ethyl group, all H atoms, the O atom and its attached C atom are disordered over two positions; the site occupancy factors are ca 0.6 and 0.4. The OH group is involved in an intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond.

Project description:In the title complex, [Zn(C(8)H(3)NO(6))(C(4)H(6)N(2))(2)](n), the carboxyl-ate groups of the 3-nitro-phthalate dianion ligand coordinate the Zn(II) ion in a bis-monodentate mode. The Zn(II) ion shows distorted tetra-hedral coordination as it is bonded to two O atoms from the carboxyl-ate groups of symmetry-related 3-nitro-phthalate anions and two N atoms of two independent 1-methyl-imidazole mol-ecules. The bridging 3-nitro-phthalate ligand allows the formation of one-dimensional chains in the c direction. The crystal structure is further stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(6)H(9)N(2)O(3)S)(2)](n), the copper(II) ion sits on an inversion center and is chelated by the imidazole N and sulfonate O atoms of two ligands in equatorial positions. O atoms of adjacent mol-ecules coordinate in the axial positions. Jahn-Teller tetra-gonal distortion is evident in the coordination geometry [Cu-N and Cu-O equatorial distances of 1.971 (3) and 2.045 (2) Å, respectively, with a Cu-O axial distance of 2.433 (3) Å]. The structure is propagated by an infinite chain of eight-membered (Cu-O-S-O)(2) ring systems along the a axis. Only N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding exists between the chains.

The water mol-ecules have a cis disposition. The bridging sulfate ions (site symmetry 2) link the Cd(II) ions into a polymeric chain extending along [001]. The chains are linked by N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds. The terminal -CH(3) group of the ligand is disordered over two orientations in a 0.61?(5):0.39?(5) ratio.
