Increasing evidence suggests that microRNAs are intimately involved in the pathophysiology of heart failure. MicroRNA-22 (miR-22) is a muscle-enriched miRNA required for optimum cardiac gene transcription and adaptation to hemodynamic stress by pressure overload in mice.
