3-[1-(2-Hy-droxy-anilino)ethyl-idene]-3H-chromen-2,4-dione.

ABSTRACT: The title compound is a new amino-coumarin derivative, C17H13NO4, and was synthesized by the condensation of 2-amino-phenol and 3-acetyl-4-hy-droxy-coumarin. An intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond generates an S(6) ring motif. In the crystal, the molecules are linked into chains extending in the [010] direction by O-H?O hydrogen bonds. There is also a ?-? stacking inter-action between the bicyclic coumarin fragment and the phenol ring [centroid-centroid distance = 3.7510?(14)?Å], and these ring systems form between them a dihedral angle of 53.3?(2)°. Intermolecular hydrogen bond C-H?O hydrogen bonding is also observed in the interconnection of the crystal packing.

In the crystal, O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds link the organic mol-ecules and water mol-ecules into chains running along the b-axis direction. The chains are further connected into layers parallel to the bc plane by ?-? inter-actions between inversion-related benzene rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.8846?(9)?Å].

Project description:In the title compound, C15H15NO2, the dihedral angle between the aromatic rings is 5.86 (6)°, and an intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond generates an S(6) motif, which helps to stabilize the enamine-keto tautomer. An intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond also occurs. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds generate R 2 (2)(10) loops. A C-H⋯O inter-action links the dimers into [010] chains and aromatic π-π stacking [centroid-centroid separation = 3.6131 (9) Å] also occurs.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C14H13NO4, contains three independent mol-ecules, which differ slightly in conformation. Each contains an intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond. In the crystal, O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds form chains of mol-ecules, which are linked into corrugated sheets parallel to (03) plane by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds together with π inter-actions between the carbonyl groups and the 2-hy-droxy-phenyl rings. The layers are linked by further C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The Hirshfeld surface analysis of the crystal structure indicates that the most important contributions for the crystal packing are from H⋯H (49.0%), H⋯O/O⋯H (28.3%) and H⋯C/C⋯H (10.9%) inter-actions. van der Waals inter-actions are the dominant inter-actions in the crystal packing. Moreover, density functional theory (DFT) optimized structures at the B3LYP/ 6-311 G(d,p) level are compared with the experimentally determined mol-ecular structure in the solid state. The HOMO-LUMO behavior was elucidated to determine the energy gap of 4.53 eV.

Intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding involving the amine H atom and the carbonyl O atom affects the conformation of the mol-ecule. One of the ethyl arms is disordered over two conformations, with occupancies of 0.59 (2) and 0.41 (2). The crystal packing is stabilized by inter-molecular C-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, and weak C-H⋯π inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, C(14)H(11)N(3)O(3), adopts an E or trans configuration with respect to the C=N bond. In the mol-ecule there is an intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond involving the hy-droxy substituent at the 2-positon of the naphthalene ring and the adjacent methyl-ene-amino N atom. The mol-ecule is roughly planar, the dihedral angle between the naphthalene and imidazolidine-2,4-dione mean planes being 8.4 (1)°. In the crystal, pairs of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link mol-ecules into inversion dimers. These dimers are futher linked via C-H⋯O inter-actions, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C16H13N3O3·0.5C2H6OS, is composed of two independent pyrazolidine-3,5-dione mol-ecules and one dimethyl sulfoxide solvent mol-ecule. In each pyrazolidine-3,5-dione mol-ecule, an intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond forms an S(5)S(6) motif. In the crystal, pairs of each independent pyrazolidine-3,5-dione mol-ecule are linked by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming dimers with R 2 (2)(8) motifs. These dimers are connected with the other mol-ecules through the solvent mol-ecules via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming ribbons along the b-axis direction. C-H⋯π inter-actions connect the ribbons. C-H⋯O interactions also occur.
