ABSTRACT: The Co(2+) ion in the title compound, Rb[Co(C3H7NO3)(H2O)5][H6CoMo6O24]·C3H7NO3·10H2O, is coordinated by five water mol-ecules and one O-monodentate l-serine ligand in a slightly distorted octahedral geometry. The Rb(+) ion is irregularly coordinated by nine O atoms. In the crystal, the [H6Co(III)Mo6O24](3-) polyanions are stacked along the b-axis direction, mediated by bridging Rb-O bonds. N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds are observed involving the l-serine mol-ecules.

The Co(2+) ion in the title compound, Rb[Co(C3H7NO3)(H2O)5][H6CoMo6O24]·C3H7NO3·10H2O, is coordinated by five water mol-ecules and one O-monodentate l-serine ligand in a slightly distorted octahedral geometry. Project description:The title salt, [CoBr(C11H27N5)]Br2·2H2O, contains a complex cation with mirror symmetry and two Br(-) counter-anions that are likewise located on the mirror plane. The central Co(III) atom of the complex cation has one Br(-) ion in an axial position, one N atom of the penta-dentate macrocyclic ligand in the other axial position and four N atoms of the ligand in equatorial positions, defining a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The macrocyclic ligand is coordinated to the Co(III) atom within a 5, 6, 5 arrangement of chelate rings in the equatorial plane of the four N atoms. Due to symmetry, the configuration of the chiral N atoms is 1RS, 4SR, 10RS, 13SR. In the crystal, N-H?Br, O-H?Br and N-H?O hydrogen bonds between the complex cation, anions and lattice water mol-ecules generate a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, (NH(4))(3)[GaMo(6)(OH)(6)O(18)]·7H(2)O, contains two centrosymmetric GaMo(6) B-type Anderson cluster units consisting of central GaO(6) octa-hedra surrounded by a hexa-gonal assembly of MoO(6) edge-sharing octa-hedra. Like other B-type Anderson clusters, where the central Mo atom is substituted with a di- or trivalent metal ion, the central six μ(3)-oxido bridges are protonated. The average Ga-O bond length is 1.97 (1) Å, whereas the average Mo-O distances are 2.29 (2), 1.94 (1) and 1.709 (5) Å, respectively, for Mo-(μ(3)-OH), Mo-(μ(2)-O) and Mo=O bonds. In the crystal structure, the Ga(μ(3)-OH)(6)Mo(6)O(18) (3-) polyanionic clusters are surrounded by NH(4) (+) cations and solvent water mol-ecules, forming an extended network of hydrogen bonds.

Poly[[hexa-?-cyanido-manganese(II)iron(III)] penta-hydrate].

Project description:The structure of the title compound, Mn(II)[Fe(III)(CN)(6)](2/3)·5H(2)O, features a face-centered cubic -Mn-NC-Fe- framework with both Mn and Fe having site symmetry mm. Since one-third of the [Fe(CN)(6)](3-) units are missing for a given formula in order to maintain charge neutrality, each Mn atom around such a vacancy is coordinated not only by the N atoms of the CN groups but also by the O atoms of the ligand water mol-ecules. In addition to ligand water mol-ecules, two types of non-coordinated water mol-ecules, so-called zeolitic water mol-ecules, exist in the inter-stitial sites of the -Mn-NC-Fe- framework. The positions of the O atoms of the zeolitic water mol-ecules are fixed by the linkage via hydrogen bonds between ligand water and zeolitic water mol-ecules. The structure is related to a recently reported rubidium manganese hexa-cyano-ferrate. Site occupancy factors for Fe, C, N are 0.67; for two O atoms the value is 0.83 and for one O atom is 0.17.

Project description:The title compound, [Co(C3H7NO)(H2O)5]SO4·C3H7NO, contains five aqua ligands, a Co(II) atom, a sulfate ion and both a coordinating and a non-coordinating di-methyl-formamide (DMF) mol-ecule. The DMF solvent mol-ecule lies between the complex units, which are located along the b axis. The sulfate ion is for charge balance. The Co(II) atom has distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry, being ligated by five aqua ligands and the O atom of the DMF ligand. O-H?O hydrogen bonds between the aqua ligands and the sulfate anion and non-coordinating DMF molecule lead to the formation of a three-dimensional network. Since all constituents lie on a mirror plane, the H atoms of all methyl groups and of one of the aqua ligands are equally disordered over two positions.

Project description:The title compound, [Co(C(2)H(8)N(2))(3)](2)[SiMo(8)V(4)O(40)(VO)(2)]·6H(2)O, was prepared under hydro-thermal conditions. The asymmetric unit consists of a transition metal complex [Co(en)(3)](3+) cation (en is ethyl-enediamine), one half of an [SiMo(8)V(4)O(40)(VO)(2)](6-) heteropolyanion, two solvent water mol-ecules in general positions and two half-mol-ecules of water located on a mirror plane. In the complex cation, the Co(3+) ion is in a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment formed by six N atoms of the three chelating en ligands. One of the en ligands exhibits disorder of its aliphatic chain over two sets of sites of equal occupancy. The [SiMo(8)V(4)O(40)(VO)(2)](6-) heteropolyanion is a four-electron reduced bivanadyl-capped ?-Keggin-type molybdenum-vanadium-oxide cluster. In the crystal, it is located on a mirror plane, which results in disorder of the central tetra-hedral SiO(4) group: the O atoms of this group occupy two sets of sites related by a mirror plane. Furthermore, all of the eight ?(2)-oxide groups are also disordered over two sets of sites with equal occupancy. There are extensive inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds between the complex cations and inorganic polyoxidoanions, leading to a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

The Gd(III) ions exhibit three types of coordination environments. The other Gd ions are nine-coordinated in a tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry; one of these Gd ions is bonded to four O atoms from two imidazole-4,5-dicarboxyl-ate ligands, three O atoms from three SO(4) (2-) anions and two water O atoms and the other Gd ion is coordinated by one O atom and one N atom from one imidazole-4, 5-dicarboxyl-ate ligand, five O atoms from three SO(4) (2-) anions as well as two coordinated water mol-ecules. These metal coordination units are connected by bridging imidazole-4,5-dicarboxyl-ate and sulfate ligands, generating a three-dimensional network. The crystal structure is further stabilized by N-H?O, O-H?O, and C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between water mol-ecules, SO(4) (2-) anions, and imidazole-4,5-dicarboxyl-ate ligands.

Project description:In the polymeric title compound, {[Ho(2)(C(6)H(2)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)(6)]·18H(2)O}(n), the Ho(III) ion is nine-coordinated by six O atoms derived from three bidentate 2,5-dihy-droxy-1,4-benzoquinonate (DHBQ(2-)) ligands and three O atoms from three water mol-ecules. The Ho(III) ions are connected via three ligands, resulting in the formation of a two-dimensional honeycomb layer parallel to the ab plane. The layer is racemic in which ?- and ?-coordination geometries around Ho(III) ions are alternately arranged. The asymmetric unit comprises a third of a Ho(III) ion, located on a threefold axis, one-half of a DHBQ(2-) ion, located on a centre of inversion, one coordinated water mol-ecule and three uncoordinated water mol-ecules.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(H2O)6][BaCr(C2O4)3(H2O)3]2·4H2O, was obtained in the form of single crystals from the slow evaporation of an aqueous mixture of {Ba6(H2O)17[Cr(C2O4)3]4}·7H2O and NiSO4·6H2O in the molar ratio 1:4. Its structure is made up of corrugated anionic (101) layers of formula [BaCr(C2O4)3(H2O)3] n n - that leave voids accommodating the charge-compensating cations, [Ni(H2O)6]2+ (point group symmetry ), as well as the water mol-ecules of crystallization. The anionic layers are built from the connection of barium and chromium atoms through bridging oxalate ligands. The CrIII atom is hexa-coordinated by O atoms of three oxalate ligands while the BaII atom is tenfold coordinated by three O atoms of water mol-ecules and seven O atoms of four oxalate ligands. Each NiII atom sits on an inversion center and is coordinated by six water mol-ecules. One of the uncoordinated water mol-ecules is disordered over two sites, with a refined occupancy ratio of 0.51?(5):0.49?(5). In the crystal, extensive O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions link the anionic layers, the charge-balancing cations as well as the water mol-ecules of crystallization into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:In the title mononuclear complex, [Co(C(9)H(4)N(2)O(4))(H(2)O)(5)]·5H(2)O, the Co(II) atom exhibits a distorted octa-hedral geometry involving an N atom of a 1H-benzimidazole-5,6-dicarboxyl-ate ligand and five water O atoms. A supra-molecular network is generated through inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions involving the coordinated and uncoordinated water mol-ecules and the carboxyl O atoms of the organic ligand. An inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond is also observed.
