ABSTRACT: The title compound, C21H21N3O2, adopts a J-shaped conformation which appears to be at least partially directed by a weak intra-molecular C-H?N hydrogen bond. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by N-H?O hydrogen bonds into R 2 (2)(8) and R 2 (2)(14) cyclic dimers, which form a chain running parallel to the b axis.

Project description:In the title mol-ecule, C(16)H(13)N(3)O(3), the benzene and phenyl rings are linked through a propenyl-idene hydrazide fragment, C-C(=O)-N(H)-N=C(H)-C(H)=C(H)-, which is fully extended with torsion angles in the range 175.4?(2)-179.9?(2)°. The dihedral angle between the the benzene and phenyl rings is 58.28?(7)°. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into chains along the b axis and additional stabilization is provided by weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Furthermore, these dimers connect to each other via C-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds to form a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, C(34)H(30)N(4)O(2), lies on an inversion center and consists of two 3-substituted-1H-indole units linked by a 1,2-dimethyl-enehydrazine bridge. It is one of numerous examples in which two aromatic ring systems are joined by this 4-atom bridge. The geometry of the centrosymmetric bridge is: C(arom)-C = 1.444?(3), C=N = 1.284?(3), N-N = 1.414?(4)?Å, C(arom)-C=N = 122.6?(2) and C=N-N = 111.9?(2)°. The nine non-H atoms of the indole unit lie in a plane (?(r.m.s.) = 0.0089?Å) which is twisted 6.0?(2)° with respect to the hydrazine bridge plane. The benzyl-oxymethyl substituents do not lie in the plane of the rest of the mol-ecule and are in a folded rather than an extended conformation. This is described by the three torsion angles in the middle of the C=N-C-O-C(Bz) group, viz. 98.5?(3), -62.1?(3), and -66.3?(2)°.

Project description:In the title compound C(10)H(11)N(3)O, the mean plane of the indole ring system (r.m.s. deviation 0.0131 Å) subtends a dihedral angle of 87.27 (5)° to the almost planar acetohydrazide substituent (r.m.s. deviation 0.0291 Å). In the crystal, bifurcated N-H⋯(O,N) and N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds involving the pyrrole N-H grouping combine to form zigzag chains along a. Additional N-H⋯O contacts from the hydrazide N-H group augmented by C-H⋯π inter-actions link the mol-ecules into chains along the a axis. The overall effect of these contacts is a three-dimensional network structure with mol-ecules stacked along the b-axis direction.

Project description:In the title compound, C(18)H(16)N(2), there are two independent half-mol-ecules (A and B) in the asymmetric unit, each mol-ecule being completed by an inversion center situated in the mid-point of the central N-N bond. The mol-ecules themselves therefore are essentially planar with r.m.s. deviations of 0.015 (1) and 0.020 (1) Å, respectively. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected via C-H⋯π inter-actions in which only type B mol-ecules are donors, while both A and B mol-ecules act as acceptors. Project description:The V(IV) atom in the title complex, [V(C(19)H(17)N(3)O(2)S)O], is coordinated by two N and two O atoms of the dianionic tetra-dentate Schiff base ligand and the terminal oxide O atom. The N(2)O(3) donor set defines a square-pyramidal coordination geometry with the oxide O atom in the apical site. Some buckling in the tetra-dentate ligand is indicated by the dihedral angle of 17.92?(19)° between the six-membered chelate rings. Supra-molecular chains are formed along the b axis via C-H?O contacts in the crystal. The chains are connected into a layer in the ab plane via C-H?? inter-actions. The atoms comprising the -SCH(2)-CH=CH(2) and methyl substituents were found to be disordered in a 0.916?(2):0.088?(2) ratio. The crystal studied was found to be twinned by nonmerohedry with a 28.1?(4)% minor twin component.
