ABSTRACT: The title compound, C23H26O6S2 was synthesized by esterification of tri-cyclo-[3.3.1.0(3,7)]nonane-3,7-diol with p-toluene-sulfonyl chloride. The mol-ecule has symmetry 2 and is situated on site 4e. The C-C bond length between the quartenary C atoms is 1.598?(2)?Å, which is considerably longer than other C-C bonds in the mol-ecule. There are C-H?O inter-actions present in the structure. As a consequence, the packing of the molecule (viewed along [100]) appears as chains where the molecules run parallel, but each chain has the opposite direction to the neighboring ones.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, C(11)H(18)O(6)S(2), was determined to investigate the effect of the eclipsed mesyl groups on the bond length of the vicinal quaternary C atoms. The two quaternary C atoms of the noradamantane skeleton and the two O atoms to which they are connected all located essentially in the same plane [maximum deviation 0.01?Å], resulting in an eclipsing conformation of the C-O bonds. The C-C bond of the quaternary C atoms is 1.597?(3)?Å is considerably longer than the other C-C bonds of the mol-ecule.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, C(28)H(20)O(8)S(2), has a T-shaped conformation. The central 9,10-anthraquinone moiety is bow-shaped with the two outer aromatic rings being inclined to one another by 13.99?(11)°. The benzenesulfonate rings are inclined to one another by 47.35?(12)°, and by 34.51?(11) and 17.88?(11)° to the bridging aromatic ring of the 9,10-anthraquinone moiety. In the crystal, C-H?O interactions link the mol-ecules into ribbons in [100].

Project description:Compounds (I), C9H10N2O4, (II), C11H12N2O4, and (III), C14H12N2O4·C3H7NO represent 9,9-disubstituted-3,7-di-aza-bicyclo-[3.3.1]nonane-2,4,6,8-tetra-one deriv-atives with very similar mol-ecular geometries for the bicyclic framework: the dihedral angle between the planes of the imide groups is 74.87 (6), 73.86 (3) and 74.83 (6)° in (I)-(III), respectively. The dimethyl derivative (I) is positioned on a crystallographic twofold axis and its overall geometry deviates only slightly from idealized C2v symmetry. The spiro-cyclo-pentane derivative (II) and the phen-yl/methyl analog (III) retain only inter-nal Cs symmetry, which in the case of (II) coincides with crystallographic mirror symmetry. The cyclo-pentane moiety in (II) adopts an envelope conformation, with the spiro C atom deviating from the mean plane of the rest of the ring by 0.548 (2) Å. In compound (III), an N-H⋯O hydrogen bond is formed with the di-methyl-formamide solvent mol-ecule. In the crystal, both (I) and (II) form similar zigzag hydrogen-bonded ribbons through double inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. However, whereas in (I) the ribbons are formed by two trans-arranged O=C-N-H amide fragments, the amide fragments are cis-positioned in (II). The formation of ribbons in (III) is apparently disrupted by participation of one of its N-H groups in hydrogen bonding with the solvent mol-ecule. As a result, the mol-ecules of (III) form zigzag chains rather than the ribbons through inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The crystal of (I) was a pseudo-merohedral twin.

Project description:The title compound, [Ru(C(10)H(15))(NO)(HOCH(2)CH(2)OH)](CF(3)SO(3))(2), possesses a three-legged piano-stool geometry around the Ru atom, with an average Ru-O distance of 2.120 (6) Å and an Ru-N-O angle of 159.45 (14)°. The ethyl-eneglycol ligand forms a non-planar metallacyclic ring by chelating the Ru atom via the O atoms. The O⋯O distances of 2.554 (2) and 2.568 (2) Å are indicative of hydrogen bonding between coordinated ethyl-eneglycol and outer-sphere trifluoro-methane-sulfonate fragments. The crystal packing is stabilized by ionic forces and several CH(3)⋯·F (2.585 and 2.640 Å) and CH(3)⋯O inter-actions (2.391, 2.678, 2.694 and 2.699 Å) between the penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-dienyl ligand and trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anion. There is noticeable short inter-molecular contact [2.9039 (16) Å], between an O atom of the SO(3) group and a C atom of the penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-dienyl ligand.

In the crystal, cations and anions are linked by weak C-H?O inter-actions into chains along [010]. Adjacent chains are further arranged in an anti-parallel manner into sheets parallel to the bc plane. ?-? inter-actions are observed involving the cations, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.7664?(8) and 3.8553?(8)?Å.

One cation is approximately planar, whereas the other is twisted slightly, the dihedral angles between the pyridinium and phenyl rings of each cation being 0.96?(15) and 7.05?(16)°. In the crystal structure, the cations are stacked in an anti-parallel manner along the a axis through weak C-H?? inter-actions and ?-? inter-actions, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.5544?(19) and 3.699?(2)?Å. The 4-bromobenzene-sulfonate anions and the cations are linked together by weak C-H?O inter-actions. A short Br?I contact [3.6373?(4)?Å] and C-H?I interactions are also observed.
