[6,6'-Bis(1,1-di-methyl-eth-yl)-4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-methyl-enediphenolato-?(2) O,O']di-chlorido-(9H-fluoren-9-ol-?O)titanium(IV)-fluorene-diethyl ether (1/0.5/1).

ABSTRACT: The title adduct, [TiCl2(C23H30O2)(C13H10O]·0.5C13H10·C4H10O, is a monomer with a trigonal-bypyramidal coordination sphere of the Ti(IV) atom in which the ligand O atoms of the bidentate diphenolate anion are located in both apical and equatorial positions. Chloride ligands occupy the remaining two equatorial sites of the trigonal bypyramid with the fluoren-9-ol O atom occupying the other apical site. The hy-droxy group H atom of this latter group is hydrogen bonded to an O atom of a non-coordinating diethyl ether mol-ecule. The title compound also contains a further fluorene solvent mol-ecule, which lies across a centre of symmetry and which is equally disordered over an inversion centre.

Project description:The title compound, C(17)H(12)N(2)O·H(2)O, was synthesized by the reaction of 4,5-diaza-fluoren-9-one with a Grignard reagent in ether (the reaction mixture being hydrolysed with saturated NH(4)Cl solution), and crystallizes with two organic mol-ecules and two water mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. The 4,5-diaza-fluorene fragment is approximately planar, with r.m.s. deviations of 0.0448 and 0.0198?Å in the two mol-ecules. The dihedral angles between the 4,5-diaza-fluorene planes and the phenyl ring are 80.49?(6) and 76.57?(7)°. The crystal packing features O-H?N and O-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the bridging solvent water mol-ecules, which link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title complex, [Ti2Cl4{CH3C(CH2O)2(CH2OH)}2], lies across a centre of symmetry with a diethyl ether solvent mol-ecule hydrogen bonded to the -CH2OH groups on either side of it. The Ti(IV) atom is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry by a tripodal ligand and two terminal chloride atoms. There are three coordination modes for the tripodal ligand distinguishable on the basis of their very different Ti-O bond lengths. For the terminal alkoxo ligand, the Ti-O distance is 1.760?(1)?Å, the asymmetric bridge system has Ti-O bond lengths of 1.911?(1) and 2.048?(1)?Å. The Ti-O bond length for the alcohol O atom is the longest at 2.148?(1)?Å.

Project description:The title compound, (C(8)H(15)N(2))[LaCl(4)(CH(3)OH)(C(3)H(7)OH)], consists of one 1-butyl-3-methyl-imidazolium (BMI(+)) cation and one hexa-hedral tetra-chlorido(methanol)(propan-2-ol)lanthanate anion. The La(III) ion is eight-coordinate, with the La(III) ion bridged by a pair of Cl atoms, so forming chains propagating along the a-axis direction. Each La(III) ion is further coordinated by two isolated Cl atoms, one methanol and one propan-2-ol mol-ecule. The coordinated methanol and propan-2-ol mol-ecules of the anion form O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds with the Cl atoms of inversion-related anions. The BMI(+) cation froms C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds with the Cl atoms of the anion. The anions are located in the C faces of the triclinic unit cell, with an inversion center in the middle of the La(2)Cl(2) ring of the polymeric chain.

Project description:The centrosymmetric dinuclear title compound, [Zn(2)Cl(4)(C(4)H(12)N(2))(2)], is isostructural with its previously reported Cu(II) analogue [Phelps, Goodman & Hodgson (1976 ?). Inorg. Chem.15, 2266-2270]. In the title compound, each of the Zn(II) ions is coordinated by two N atoms from a chelating N,N-dimethyl-ethylenediamine ligand, two bridging Cl atoms and one terminal Cl atom. The coordination environment is distorted square-pyramidal. The Zn-Cl bond distances of the two bridging Cl atoms are distinctly different: the equatorial Cl atom exbibits a Zn-Cl distance of 2.318?(1)?Å and the axial Cl atom exbibits a Zn-Cl distance of 2.747?(2)?Å, which is significantly longer. The mol-ecule can thus be seen as a dimer of two nearly square-planar monomeric units which are related to each other by an inversion center located in the middle of the dimer. Within one monomeric unit, the Zn atom, the two N atoms and the two Cl atoms are almost coplanar, with a mean deviation of only 0.05?(1)?Å from the associated least-squares plane. The Zn?Zn distance within the dimer is 3.472?(3)?Å. N-H?Cl and C-H?Cl hydrogen-bond inter-actions connect neighboring mol-ecules with each other.
