The gas phase dissociation behavior of peptides containing acyl-arginine residues is investigated. These acylations are generated via a combination of ion/ion reactions between arginine-containing peptides and <i>N</i>-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) esters and subsequent tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS).
