Genome sequences of three species d adenoviruses isolated from AIDS patients.

ABSTRACT: HAdVD23 and two novel adenoviruses, HAdVD60a and HAdVD62, isolated from feces of AIDS patients in Manchester, United Kingdom, have been sequenced. The HAdVD60a genome lacks the penton arginine-glycine-aspartic acid (RGD) motif and differs from HAdVD60 by a recombinant E3 region. HAdVD62 has penton, hexon, and fiber regions not previously found in other adenoviruses.

Project description:The emergence of multidrug-resistant Enterobacteriaceae strains producing carbapenemases, such as NDM-1, has become a major public health issue due to a high dissemination capacity and limited treatment options. Here we describe the draft genome of three NDM-1-producing isolates: Providencia rettgeri (CCBH11880), Enterobacter hormaechei subsp. oharae (CCBH10892) and Klebsiella pneumoniae (CCBH13327), isolated in Brazil. Besides blaNDM-1, resistance genes to aminoglycosides [aadA1, aadA2, aac(6')-Ib-cr] and quinolones (qnrA1, qnrB4) were observed which contributed to the multidrug resistance profile. The element ISAba125 was found associated to the blaNDM-1 gene in all strains.

The sizes of the assembled genomes for RO1, RO2, and RO3 were 4.22?Mb, 4.15?Mb, and 4.23?Mb, respectively.

Draft genome sequences of three filamentous cyanobacteria isolated from brackish habitats.

Project description:Brackish cyanobacterial genome sequences are relatively rare. Here, we report the 5.5 Mbp, 5.8 Mbp and 6.1 Mbp draft genomes of Spirulina sp. CCY15215, Leptolyngbya sp. CCY15150 and Halomicronema sp. CCY15110 isolated from coastal microbial mats on the North Sea beach of the island of Schiermonnikoog in the Netherlands. Large scale phylogenomic analyses reveal that Spirulina sp. CCY15215 is a large cell diameter cyanobacterium, whereas Leptolyngbya sp. CCY15150 and Halomicronema sp. CCY15110 are the first reported brackish genomes belonging to the LPP clade consisting primarily of Leptolyngbya, Plectonema and Phormidium spp. Further genome mining divulges that all new draft genomes contain, ggpS and ggpP , the genes responsible for synthesising glucosylglycerol (GG), a compatible solute found in moderately salt-tolerant cyanobacteria.
