ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C19H14FNS2, the seven-membered thia-zepine ring adopts a slightly distorted twist boat conformation. The dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 53.6?(1)°. The mean plane of the thia-zepine ring is twisted by 34.3?(7)° and 36.6?(7)° from the benezene rings. A C-H?F interaction generates stacking of molecules along the ab plane.

Project description:In the title 1-oxo-1,2-di-hydro-naphthalene derivatives, C28H24O6, (I), C34H22O5S, (II), and C27H20O3S2, (III), the cyclo-hexa-1,3-diene rings of the 1,2-di-hydro-naphthalene ring systems adopt half-chair, boat and half-chair conformations, respectively. The carbonyl O atoms attached to the di-hydro-naphthalene ring systems are each significantly deviated from the mean plane of the 1,2-di-hydro-naphthalene ring system, by 0.6162 (12) Å in (I), 0.6016 (16) Å in (II) and 0.515 (3) Å in (III). The mean planes of the 1,2-di-hydro-naphthalene ring systems make dihedral angles of 85.83 (3), 88.19 (3) and 81.67 (8)°, respectively, with the methyl-phenyl ring in (I), the pyrene ring in (II) and the phenyl ring in (III). In (I), the mol-ecular structure is stabilized by an intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bond, generating an S(6) ring motif. In the crystal of (I), mol-ecules are linked by an inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bond, which generates a C(8) zigzag chain running along [100]. Adjacent chains are further connected by C-H⋯π and offset π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.6572 (9) Å], forming a double-chain structure. In the crystals of (II) and (III), mol-ecules are linked into chain structures by offset π-π inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 3.5349 (12) and 3.8845 (13) Å for (II) and 3.588 (2) Å for (III). The amide group, with a C-N-C-C torsion angle of 177.54 (13)°, is twisted away from the plane of the pyrazole ring in an anti-periplanar conformation. In the crystal, N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the carbonyl group on the pyrazole ring and the amide group, together with weak C-H⋯O inter-actions forming R 2 (2)(10) graph-set motifs, link the mol-ecules into chains along [100]. Project description:The title 1,3,4-oxa-diazole-2-thione derivative, C18H20N4OS2, crystallized with two independent mol-ecules (A and B) in the asymmetric unit. The 2-thienyl rings in both mol-ecules are rotationally disordered over two orientations by approximately 180° about the single C-C bond that connects it to the oxa-diazole thione ring; the ratios of site occupancies for the major and minor components were fixed in the structure refinement at 0.8:0.2 and 0.9:0.1 in mol-ecules A and B, respectively. The 1,3,4-oxa-diazole-2-thione ring forms dihedral angles of 7.71 (16), 10.0 (11) and 77.50 (12)° (mol-ecule A), and 6.5 (3), 6.0 (9) and 55.30 (12)° (mol-ecule B) with the major and minor parts of the disordered thio-phene ring and the mean plane of the adjacent piperazine ring, respectively, resulting in approximately V-shaped conformations for the mol-ecules. The piperazine ring in both mol-ecules adopts a chair conformation. The terminal benzene ring is inclined towards the mean plane of the piperazine ring with N-C-C-C torsion angles of -58.2 (3) and -66.2 (3)° in mol-ecules A and B, respectively. In the crystal, no inter-molecular hydrogen bonds are observed. The crystal packing features short S⋯S contacts [3.4792 (9) Å] and π-π inter-actions [3.661 (3), 3.664 (11) and 3.5727 (10) Å], producing a three-dimensional network.

The dihedral angles between the terminal benzene rings is 77.53 (9)°, indicating a significant twist in the mol-ecule. In the crystal, supra-molecular zigzag chains along the c-axis direction are sustained by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. These are connected into double chains by C-H⋯π inter-actions.
