Highly efficient ionization of phosphopeptides at low pH by desorption electrospray ionization mass spectrometry.


ABSTRACT: A fast and novel strategy for efficient ionization of phosphopeptides in mixtures is reported, in which the sample is acidified to low pH to suppress the deprotonation of phosphate groups and then followed by direct analysis using liquid sample desorption electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (DESI-MS).
