[2-Benzyl-3-(naphthalen-1-yl)-2,3-di-hydro-1,2-oxazole-4,5-di-yl]bis-(phenyl-methanone).

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C34H25NO3, the five-membered heterocyclic ring adopts an envelope conformation with the N atom as the flap. The plane through the four basal atoms of this ring makes dihedral angles of 69.78?(13), 53.15?(12) and 86.42?(13)°, respectively, with the benzene rings of the benzyl group and the two phenyl-methanone groups at the 4 and 5 positions, and of 78.60?(11)° with the naphthalenyl system. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked through C-H?O and C-H?? contacts into layers parallel to (101).

Project description:The phenyl and tert-butyl groups of the title compound, C27H25NO3, exhibit a trans configuration in agreement with the stereochemistry of the Z phenyl-N-tert-butyl-nitrone starting material. The attached carbonyl groups are not coplanar with the neighboring di-hydro-isoxazole ring and the phenyl rings they are bonded to, with torsion angles of 59.26?(8), 17.53?(11), 16.52?(12) and 52.86?(7)°. The dihedral angle between the di-hydro-isoxazole ring and the directly attached phenyl group is 86.86?(8)°. There are two nonclassical inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions that operate together with an inter-molecular C-H?? inter-action to form a supramolecular architecture in the crystal system.

Project description:In the title compound, C(15)H(12)ClNO, the isoxazoline ring adopts an envelope conformation with the C atom bearing an unsubstituted phenyl ring as the flap atom. The chlorinated phenyl group is nearly in-plane with the four coplanar atoms of the heterocycle and the corresponding mean planes enclosing an angle of 1.16?(7)°. The unsubstituted phenyl group attached to the envelope flap atom approaches a nearly perpendicular orientation relative to the isoxazoline ring with a dihedral angle of 74.93?(7)°. Project description:The stereochemistry and regiochemistry of the title compound, C18H18O2, were determined by the X-ray analysis. There are two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit in which the dihedral angles between the benzene rings are 88.31?(4) and 86.27?(4)°. The cyclo-hexene rings are in half-chair conformations. In the crystal, O-H?O hydrogen bonds link alternating types of mol-ecules into chains along [010] with graph-set C 2 (2)(4).

Project description:In the title 1-oxo-1,2-di-hydro-naphthalene derivatives, C28H24O6, (I), C34H22O5S, (II), and C27H20O3S2, (III), the cyclo-hexa-1,3-diene rings of the 1,2-di-hydro-naphthalene ring systems adopt half-chair, boat and half-chair conformations, respectively. The carbonyl O atoms attached to the di-hydro-naphthalene ring systems are each significantly deviated from the mean plane of the 1,2-di-hydro-naphthalene ring system, by 0.6162 (12) Å in (I), 0.6016 (16) Å in (II) and 0.515 (3) Å in (III). The mean planes of the 1,2-di-hydro-naphthalene ring systems make dihedral angles of 85.83 (3), 88.19 (3) and 81.67 (8)°, respectively, with the methyl-phenyl ring in (I), the pyrene ring in (II) and the phenyl ring in (III). In (I), the mol-ecular structure is stabilized by an intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bond, generating an S(6) ring motif. In the crystal of (I), mol-ecules are linked by an inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bond, which generates a C(8) zigzag chain running along [100]. Adjacent chains are further connected by C-H⋯π and offset π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.6572 (9) Å], forming a double-chain structure. In the crystals of (II) and (III), mol-ecules are linked into chain structures by offset π-π inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 3.5349 (12) and 3.8845 (13) Å for (II) and 3.588 (2) Å for (III). In (II) and (III), the thio-phene rings are orientationally disordered over two sites, with occupancy ratios of 0.69:0.31 for (II), and 0.528 (4):0.472 (4) and 0.632 (5):0.368 (5) for (III).

Project description:In the title zwitterionic compound, C20H15N3O3S2, the 2-hy-droxy-naphthalene-1-carbaldehyde group A, the anilinic unit B and the 1,3-thia-zol-2(3H)-imine group C are each approximately planar with r.m.s. deviation of 0.0721, 0.0412 and 0.0125 Å, respectively. The dihedral angles between A/B, A/C and B/C are 24.70 (10), 79.97 (7) and 83.14 (6)°, respectively. There is an intra-molecular S(6) motif involving the imine N-H and the naphtho-late O atom. In the crystal, inversion-related mol-ecules form dimers as a result of N-H⋯N and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds with R 2 (2)(8) and R 1 (2)(4) motifs, respectively. Weak π-π inter-actions between the benzene and naphthyl rings of inversion-related mol-ecules have ring centroid-centroid distances of 3.638 (2) and 4.041 (2) Å. A C-H⋯π inter-action occurs between the thia-zol ring and the benzene ring of an adjacent mol-ecule.
