ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Pd(SC6H4F-p)Cl(PPh3)2]·0.5CH3OH, features a Pd(II) complex with two tri-phenyl-phosphane (PPh3) ligands arranged in a trans conformation, with one chloride and one 4-fluoro-benzene-thiol-ate ligand completing the coordination sphere, giving rise to a slightly distorted square-planar geometry of the Pd(II) ion. The methanol solvent mol-ecule is disordered about an inversion centre with an occupancy of 0.25 for each molecule. In the crystal, weak C-H?Cl hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the complex mol-ecules generate chain frameworks parallel to [010].

Project description:The title compound, [Pd2Cl2(C6H5S)2(C18H15P)2]·2CHCl3, contains a centrosymmetric dinuclear palladium complex with the Pd(II) cation in a slightly distorted square-planar coordination environment. The Pd(II) cations are bridged by the S atoms of two benzene-thiol-ate ligands with different Pd-S distances [2.2970?(11) and 2.3676?(11)?Å]. The coordination of the metal atom is completed by a chloride anion [2.3383?(11)?Å] and a tri-phenyl-phosphane ligand [2.2787?(11)?Å]. Weak C-H?Cl inter-actions are present between complex mol-ecules and the CHCl3 solvent mol-ecule. The latter is disordered over two positions in a 0.792?(8):0.208?(8) ratio. The crystal under investigation was found to be twinned by nonmerohedry, with a fraction of 73.4?(1)% for the major twin component.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [PdCl(C9H12NSe)(C18H15P)], contains two independent mol-ecules. In both cases, the Pd(2+) cations are coordinated by the Se and N atoms of the chelating bidentate 2-[(di-methyl-amino)-meth-yl]benzene-seleno-late ligand. The chloride ligand lies trans to selenium and the tri-phenyl-phosphane ligand is trans to nitro-gen. The Pd-Se bond lengths in the two independent coordination environments of Pd are 2.3801?(4) and 2.3852?(4)?Å, the Pd-P bond lengths are 2.2562?(8) and 2.2471?(8)?Å, the Pd-N bond lengths are 2.172?(2) and 2.158?(2)?Å, and the Pd-Cl bond lengths are 2.3816?(8) and 2.3801?(8)?Å. The square-planar coordination around one Pd(2+) cation is less distorted than that around the other.

Project description:The crystal structures of two solvates of fac-tri-chlorido-tris-(tri-methyl-phosphane-?P)rhodium(III) are reported, i.e. one with water in the crystal lattice, fac-[RhCl3(Me3P)3]·H2O, and one with methanol in the crystal lattice, fac-[RhCl3(Me3P)3]·0.5CH3OH. These rhodium compounds exhibit distorted octahedral coordination spheres at the metal and are isotypic with the analogous iridium compounds previously reported by us [Merola et al. (2013 ?). Polyhedron, 54, 67-73]. Comparison is made between the rhodium and iridium compounds, highlighting their isostructural relationships.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Cu(C(8)F(4)O(4))(CH(3)OH)]·CH(3)OH}(n), two Cu(II) atoms are bridged by four carboxyl-ate groups, forming the well known paddle-wheel secondary building unit (SBU) with axial methanol ligands. In each ligand, the dihedral angles between the benzene ring and the two carboxyl-ate groups are 80.43?(17) and 62.5?(4)°. Within each SBU, the four carboxyl-ate groups come from four symmetry-equivalent tetra-fluoro-isophthalate ligands. Each tetra-fluoro-isophthalate group connects two SBUs, forming a layered structure . In the crystal, O-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the free and ligated methanol mol-ecules link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

In the crystal structure, weak intra- and inter-molecular C-H?? and ?-? inter-actions are observed. The pyridyl ring is equally disordered over two positions.

Project description:The title compound, [Au(C18H10F4PS)Cl2], crystallizes as neutral mol-ecules, with the Au(III) atom coordinated by two Cl atoms and by the P and S atoms of the bidentate phosphanyl thiol-ate ligand, in a slightly distorted square-planar environment. The mol-ecules are linked into centrosymmetric dimers via long axial Au-Cl bonds of 3.393?(4)?Å. This axial Au-Cl distance is longer than is usually seen, although one other example has been given. Dimer formation may explain the unexpectedly low solubility of the compound in common polar solvents. There is also a separate inter-molecular Au-F contact of 3.561?(6)?Å, but this distance seems too long to be regarded as a bond. Two putative C-H?F hydrogen bonds appear to link the dimers into sheets parallel to (110). There is a short inter-molecular F?F contact of 2.695?(10)?Å between two dimers related by the twofold axis.

Project description:The crystallization of a 1:1 molar solution of 1,3,5-tri-fluoro-2,4,6-di-iodo-benzene (TFTIB) and tetra-phenyl-phosponium iodide (TPPI) from methanol produced tetra-gonal needles of pure TPPI and tabular pseudo-hexa-gonal truncated bipyramids of the title compound, 3C24H20P(+)·3I(-)·4C6F3I3·CH4O or (TPPI)3(TFTIB)4·MeOH. The asymmetric unit is composed of six TPPI mol-ecules, eight TFTIB mol-ecules and two methanol mol-ecules, overall 16 constituents. The formation of the architecture is essentially guided by a number of C-I?I(-) halogen bonds (XB), whose lengths are in the range 3.276?(1)-3.625?(1)?Å. Layers of supra-molecular polyanions are formed parallel to (10-1) wherein iodide anions function as penta-, tetra- or bidentate XB acceptors. The structure is not far from being P21/n, but the centrosymmetry is lost due to a different conformation of a single couple of cations and the small asymmetry in the formed supra-molecular anion. One methanol mol-ecule is hydrogen bonded to an iodide anion, while the second is linked to the first one via an O-H?O contact. This second methanol mol-ecule is more loosely pinned in its position than the first and presents very high anisotropic displacement parameters and a seeming shortening of the C-O bond length. The crystal studied was refined as a perfect inversion twin.

Project description:The title compound, (C(13)H(28)N(2))(2)[Zn(2)(C(8)H(4)O(4))Cl(6)]·4H(2)O, was prepared by the reaction of ZnCl(2)·6H(2)O, benzene-1,4-dicarboxylic acid and 4,4'-diamino-dicyclo-hexyl-methane in methanol. The [Zn(2)Cl(6)(C(8)H(4)O(4))](4-) anions lie on centres of inversion and comprise two ZnCl(3) groups bridged by benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate. In addition to N-H?Cl and N-H?O hydrogen bonds between the cations and anions, solvent water mol-ecules form O-H?O and O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds to give a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Pd(2)(C(9)H(12)NTe)(2)Cl(2)]·0.5CH(2)Cl(2), contains two half-mol-ecules, each lying on a twofold rotation axis; each mol-ecule is chiral and of the same enanti-omer. This is only possible as the mol-ecule has a hinged cis arrangement about the Pd(2+) coordination spheres. For this hinged dimeric structure, the angles between the two coordination planes in each mol-ecule are 21.59?(4) and 22.10?(4)°. This hinged cis arrangement also allows the two mol-ecules to form pairs linked by secondary inter-actions between the Pd and Te atoms of an adjoining mol-ecule, leading to a tetra-meric overall structure. C-H?Cl inter-actions consolidate the crystal packing.
