ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Co(C6H15N2)Cl3], the Co(2+) ion is coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral fashion by three chloride ions and one N atom of the piperazine ring; the ring adopts a chair conformation with the N-Co and N-CEt bonds in equatorial orientations. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected by N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, generating (10-1) sheets.

Tetra-aqua-bis-(piperazin-1-ium)cobalt(II) bis-(sulfate) dihydrate.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric title compound, [Co(C4H11N2)2(H2O)4](SO4)2·2H2O, the Co(II) atom is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry by four water O atoms and two piperazinium N atoms. These four water O atoms define an equatorial plane with a maximum deviation of 0.0384 (1) Å while the two piperazinium N atoms complete the octa-hedron in the axial positions. Neighboring complex mol-ecules and sulfate anions are connected through an extensive network of N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, which link the different chemical species into layers in the ab plane. Additional Owater-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the non-coordinating water mol-ecules and C-H⋯O inter-actions connect these layers into a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

Poly[1-ethyl-3-methyl-imidazolium [tri-?-chlorido-chromate(II)]].

Project description:The title compound, {(C(6)H(11)N(2))[CrCl(3)]}(n), was generated via mixing of the ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methyl-imidazolium chloride with CrCl(2) in ethanol. Crystals were obtained by a diffusion method. In the crystal structure, the anion forms one-dimensional chains of chloride-bridged Jahn-Teller distorted chromium(II) centers extending along the [100] direction. The imidazolium cations are positioned between these chains.

Crystal structure of hexa-kis-(dimethyl sulfoxide-?O)cobalt(II) bis-[tri-chlorido-(quinoline-?N)cobaltate(II)].

Project description:There are few reports that describe crystal structures of compounds containing cobalt complexed to either dimethyl sulfoxide (Me2SO) or quinoline (C9H7N). The title compound, [Co(C2H6OS)6][CoCl3(C9H7N)]2, is a cobalt salt in which the metal ion is complexed to both Me2SO and quinoline. In particular, we observed that anhydrous cobalt(II) chloride reacts with quinoline in Me2SO to form a salt that is to be formulated as [CoII(Me2SO)6]2+{[CoIICl3quinoline]2-}. The CoII atom in the cation portion of this mol-ecule lies on a inversion center and is bound to the O atoms of six Me2SO moieties in an octa-hedral configuration, while the CoII atom in the anion is attached to three chloride ligands and one quinoline moiety in a tetra-hedral arrangement.

Project description:In the title salt, C11H17N2O2S(+)·CF3COO(-), the cation is protonated at the secondary piperazine N atom. The dihedral angle between the benzene ring and the piperazine mean plane is 85.54?(10)°. In the crystal, cations and anions are connected by two types of strong N-H?O hydrogen bonds into chains extending along [101]. The chains are further assembled into (10-1) layers via stacking inter-actions between benzene rings of the cations [centroid-centroid distance = 3.7319?(13)?Å] and a C-H?O inter-action involving a piperazine C-H group and a sulfonyl O atom. Another C-H?O inter-action between the piperazine ring and the sulfonyl group connects the ions into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:As part of our ongoing investigation on the chemical and biological properties of piperazinium salts, we synthesized three novel compounds: 1-ethyl-piperazinium 3,5-di-nitro-benzoate (I), 1-methyl-piperazinium 3,5-di-nitro-benzoate (II) and 1-methyl-piperazinium 4-iodo-benzoate (III). The crystal structures of these compounds are built up of organic layers formed by the strong connection between the mol-ecules by hydrogen bonds of type N-H⋯O. These layers are linked through N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and C-H⋯O inter-actions or C-I⋯N halogen bonding, leading to the formation of a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The synthesis and crystal structures of the mol-ecular salts of 4-(4-nitro-phen-yl)piperazine with tri-fluoro-acetate, namely, 4-(4-nitro-phen-yl)piperazin-1-ium tri-fluoro-acetate, C10H14N3O2 +·C2F3O2 - (I), and with tri-chloro-acetate, namely, 4-(4-nitro-phen-yl)piperazin-1-ium tri-chloro-acetate, C10H14N3O2 +·C2Cl3O2 -, (II), are reported and compared. A partial positional disorder of the anions was found. In both structures, the piperazine rings adopt a chair conformation, whereas the positions of the nitro-phenyl group on the piperazine ring differ from bis-ectional in (I) to equatorial in (II). In both structures, the supra-molecular assemblies are mono-periodic on the basis of the chain-of-rings motifs supported by aromatic π-π inter-actions. Hirshfeld surface analysis was used to explore the inter-molecular close contacts in both crystals. The most dominant contacts of the Hirshfeld surface of the cation-anion pairs of the asymmetric units are O⋯H/H⋯O, and those with a contribution of halogen atoms: F⋯H/H⋯F in (I) and Cl⋯H/H⋯Cl in (II), respectively.

Project description:In this study, four new piperazinium salts, namely, 4-phenyl-piperazin-1-ium 4-eth-oxy-benzoate monohydrate, C9H9O3·C10H15N2·H2O (I); 4-phenyl-piperazin-1-ium 4-meth-oxy-benzoate monohydrate, C10H15N2·C8H7O3·H2O (II); 4-phenyl-piperazin-1-ium 4-methyl-benzoate monohydrate, C10H15N2·C8H7O2·H2O (III); and 4-phenyl-piperazin-1-ium tri-fluoro-acetate 0.12 hydrate, C10H15N2·C2F3O2·0.12H2O (IV), have been synthesized. The single-crystal structures of these compounds reveal that all of them crystallize in the triclinic P space group and the crystal packing of (I)-(III) is built up of ribbons formed by a combination of hydrogen bonds of type N-H⋯O, O-H⋯O and other weak inter-actions of type C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π, leading to a three-dimensional network. In the crystal of (IV), the cations and the anions are connected by C-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds and by C-H⋯π inter-actions, forming sheets which in turn inter-act to maintain the crystal structure by linking through the oxygen atoms of water mol-ecules and van der Waals inter-actions, giving the whole structure.

Project description:The title compound, (C(4)H(5)N(2)O)(5)[Cd(3)Cl(11)], was obtained from the reaction of 2-hydroxy-pyrimidine hydro-chloride and cadmium(II) chloride in concentrated HCl solution. The crystal structure consists of planar 2-oxo-1,2-dihydro-pyrimidin-3-ium cations with both N atoms protonated and the O atom unprotonated, and a complex trinuclear [Cd(3)Cl(11)](5-) anion of approximately D(3h) symmetry, which has a triangle of three octa-hedrally coordinated Cd(II) centres bonded to 11 chloride ions. Three of the chloride ions bridge adjacent Cd atoms, two cap the faces of the Cd(3) triangle and the remaining six are terminally bonded and act as hydrogen-bond acceptors. Various N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds connect the anions and cations and, in addition, inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds contribute to the formation of a three-dimensional network.
