ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C21H22O3S, the cyclo-pentyl ring adopts a twist conformation. The dihedral angle between the mean planes of the benzo-furan and 4-methyl-phenyl rings is 72.38?(6)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by C-H?O and C-H?? inter-actions, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

In the crystal, mol-ecules related by a glide plane are linked via C-H?O hydrogen bonds into chains along the a-axis direction. These chains are in turn connected by C-H?? inter-actions into layers parallel to the ac plane.
