Tetraphenylporphyrin derivatives represent a promising class of high-affinity ligands for voltage-gated potassium (Kv) channels. Herein, we investigated the mode of Kv channel block of one tetraphenylporphyrin derivative, por3, using electrophysiological methods, structure-based mutagenesis, and solid-state NMR spectroscopy.
