The genus Omalus Panzer, 1801 (Hymenoptera, Chrysididae) from China, with descriptions of four new species.

ABSTRACT: The Chinese species of the genus Omalus Panzer, 1801 are revised and keyed for the first time. Eight species are recorded, of which four are new to science and one is new to China: Omalus aeneus (Fabricius, 1787), Omalus berezovskii (Semenov-Tian-Shanskij, 1932), Omalus potanini (Semenov-Tian-Shanskij, 1932), Omalus imbecillus (Mocsáry, 1889) (new to China), Omalus helanshanus sp. n., Omalus probiaccinctus sp. n., Omalus pseudoimbecillus sp. n., and Omalus tibetanus sp. n.

The Chinese species of the genus Omalus Panzer, 1801 are revised and keyed for the first time. Project description:Four species of Mastrus Förster, 1869 are reported from China. Two, Mastrus nigrus Sheng & Zeng, sp. n. reared from Arge pullata (Zaddach) and Mastrus rugotergalis Sheng & Zeng, sp. n. reared from Diprion jingyuanensis Xiao & Zhang, are new to science. One, Mastrus deminuens (Hartig, 1838), is a parasitoid of Pachynematus itoi Okutani. A key to species of Mastrus Förster known in China is provided.

Project description:Two genera, namely Dolabraulax Quicke and Scutibracon Quicke of Braconinae (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) from China are studied for the first time, and four new species, namely Dolabraulax jigongshanus Wang & Chen, sp. n., Dolabraulax flavus Wang & Chen, sp. n., Dolabraulax brevivena Wang & Chen, sp. n. and Scutibracon fujianensis Wang & Chen, sp. n. are fully described and illustrated. The examined specimens are deposited in the Parasitic Hymenoptera Collection, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China (ZJUH).

Revision of genus Pericalus from China, with descriptions of four new species (Carabidae, Lebiini, Pericalina).

Project description:Nine taxa of the genus Pericalus Macleay from China are revised, with four new species described: Pericalus gibbosussp. n. (type locality: Putao, Myanmar; one paratype from Mêdog, Xizang), Pericalus eleganssp. n. (type locality: Mêdog, Xizang), Pericalus acutidenssp. n. (type locality: Longchuan, Yunnan), and Pericalus obscuratussp. n. (type locality: Fanjingshan, Guizhou). Four taxa are newly recorded from China: Pericalus ornatus ornatus Schmidt-Göbel (Yunnan, Hainan), P. obtusipennis Fedorenko (Yunnan), P. amplus Andrewes (Yunnan), and P. dux Andrewes (Yunnan). Pericalus formosanus Dupuis is newly ranked as a subspecies of P. ornatus Schmidt-Göbel. An improved key to world species of the subgenus Pericalus is provided, along with distribution maps and images of habitus and male and female genitalia for all Chinese species.

One new species and three new records of <i>Chrysis</i> Linnaeus from China (Hymenoptera, Chrysididae).

Project description:Four Chinese Chrysis species-groups, the antennata, capitalis, elegans, and maculicornis species-groups, are discussed. Chrysis lapislazulina Rosa & Xu, sp. n. is described in the elegans species-group; and three species, C. brachyceras Bischoff, 1910, C. subdistincta Linsenmaier, 1968 and C. yoshikawai Tsuneki, 1961, are reported for the first time from China in other species-groups. A new synonymy is proposed for C. ignifascia Mocsáry, 1893 = C. taiwana Tsuneki, 1970, syn. n. A short historical review of the elegans species-group is provided. C. goetheana Semenov, 1967 is transferred from the elegans species-group to the maculicornis species-group. C. mesochlora Mocsáry, 1893 is considered a nomen dubium.

Project description:In this paper, 20 species of the genus Stenodynerus are reviewed and identified from China, including five new species: Stenodynerus ninglangensis Ma & Li, sp. n., Stenodynerus reflexus Ma & Li, sp. n., Stenodynerus similibaronii Ma & Li, sp. n., Stenodynerus strigatus Ma & Li, sp. n., and Stenodynerus tenuilamellatus Ma & Li, sp. n., and five new records: Stenodynerus baronii Giordani Soika, Stenodynerus bluethgeni van der Vecht, Stenodynerus picticrus (Thomson), Stenodynerus pullus Gusenleitner and Stenodynerus nepalensis Giordani Soika. The five new species are described and illustrated in detail. Moreover, the diagnostic characters of all new records and known species from China are provided, with a key to the Chinese species of Stenodynerus.
