ABSTRACT: A microwave-assisted synthesis of 2-(4-((1-phenyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)methoxy)phenyl)-1H-benzo[d]imidazoles from a phenylazide, propargyloxybenzaldehyde and a 1,2-diaminobenzene is proposed.

Project description:In the title molecule, C(24)H(15)Cl(4)N(3)O(4), the triazole ring makes dihedral angles of 72.02?(12), 81.60?(12) and 73.82?(11)°, respectively, with the adjacent phenyl ring and the two dichloro-benzene rings. In the crystal, a weak C-H?N inter-action, a short Cl?Cl contact [3.307?(2)?Å] and a ?-? stacking inter-action [centroid-centroid distance = 3.568?(4)?Å] are observed. An intra-molecular C-H?O inter-action is also present.

Project description:A group of benzimidazole analogs of sildenafil, 3-benzimidazolyl-4-methoxy-phenylsulfonylpiperazines 2-4 and 3-benzimidazolyl-4-methoxy-N,N-dimethyl- benzenesulfonamide (5), were efficiently synthesized. Compounds 2-5 were characterized by NMR and MS and contrary to the reported mass spectra of sildenafil, the spectra of the piperazine-containing compounds 2-4 showed a novel fragmentation pattern leading to an m/z = 316. A mechanism for the formation of this fragment was proposed.

In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via C-H⋯I hydrogen bonds, forming slabs parallel to the ab plane. Within the slabs there are weak π-π inter-actions present involving the mesityl and phenyl rings [inter-centroid distances are 3.8663 (18) and 3.8141 (18) Å].

Project description:In the title compound, C(8)H(8)N(4)·C(8)H(8)N(4), two tautomers, viz. 3-phenyl-1,2,4-triazol-5-amine and 5-phenyl-1,2,4-triazol-3-amine, are crystallized together in equal amounts. The 3-phenyl-1,2,4-triazol-5-amine mol-ecule is essentially planar; the phenyl ring makes a dihedral angle of 2.3?(2)° with the mean plane of the 1,2,4-triazole ring. In the 5-phenyl-1,2,4-triazol-3-amine tautomer, the mean planes of the phenyl and 1,2,4-triazole rings form a dihedral angle of 30.8?(2)°.
