BolA proteins are defined as stress-responsive transcriptional regulators, but they also participate in iron metabolism. Although they can form [2Fe-2S]-containing complexes with monothiol glutaredoxins (Grx), structural details are lacking. Three Arabidopsis thaliana BolA structures were solved.
