ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C26H19NO, the plane of the aromatic heterocycle makes a dihedral angle of 75.22?(4)° with that of the attached phenyl ring. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected by C-H?O inter-actions, generating R 2 (2)(12) dimers. These dimers are further connected by C-H?? inter-actions, linking the mol-ecules into chains running along the a-axis direction.

Project description:In the mol-ecule of the title compound, C(21)H(19)NO, the terminal saturated six-membered ring of the dihydro-acridine unit adopts an envelope conformation, while the other two fused rings are nearly coplanar, with a dihedral angle of 2.61 (3)°. The coplanar ring system is oriented with respect to the phenyl ring at a dihedral angle of 74.58 (3)°. In the crystal structure, there is a C-H⋯π contact between the central ring of the dihydro-acridine system and the phenyl ring and a π-π contact between the two central rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.809 (1) Å].

In the crystal, supra-molecular layers in the ab plane are formed by C-H?O inter-actions, involving the bifurcated carbonyl O atom, as well as C-H?? inter-actions. Project description:In the title compound, C20H20O2, the exocyclic C=C double bond has an E conformation. The ethyl substituent on the cyclo-hexa-none ring is in an axial orientation. The cyclo-hexa-none ring adopts a screw-boat conformation, with the methyl-ene C atom and the C atom bearing the 4-meth-oxy-benzyl-idene group displaced from the other atoms by 0.812 (1) and 0.334 (1) Å, respectively. The dihedral angle between the planes of the benzene rings is 42.20 (8)°. In the crystal, no directional inter-actions beyond van der Waals contacts are observed.

Project description:The title compound, C17H13ClO, is the second monoclinic polymorph to crystallize in the space group P21/c. The first polymorph crystallized with two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit [Bolognesi et al. (1975 ▸). Acta Cryst. A31, S119; Z' = 2; no atomic coordinates available], whereas the title compound has Z' = 1. In the title polymorph, the dihedral angle between the plane of the benzene ring of the tetra-lone moiety and that of the 4-chloro-benzyl ring is 52.21 (11)°. The cyclo-hex-2-en-1-one ring of the tetra-lone moiety has a screw-boat conformation. In the crystal, mol-ecules are liked by pairs of C-H⋯π inter-actions forming inversion dimers. There are no other significant inter-molecular inter-actions present.
