Project description:In the title thio-semicarbazone compound, C18H18ClN3S, the CN3S residue is almost planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.0031 Å) and forms dihedral angles of 65.99 (7) and 34.60 (10)° with the phenyl and chloro-benzene rings, respectively; the dihedral angle between the aromatic rings is 85.13 (8)°. The conformation about the C=N bond is Z, and that about the C=C bonds is E. The imine N and ethyl N atoms are syn and are linked by an eth-yl-imine N-H⋯N hydrogen bond. This H atom also forms an inter-molecular hydrogen bond to the thione S atom, resulting in a supra-molecular helical chain propagating along the b axis. The chains are consolidated into a three-dimensional architecture by phenyl-C-H⋯Cl contacts and weak π-π inter-actions between centrosymmetrically related chloro-benzene rings [inter-centroid distance = 3.9127 (15) Å].

Project description:The title compound, C(15)H(15)N(3)O, was obtained by a condensation reaction between o-amino-acetophenone and benzoyl hydrazine. The mol-ecule displays an E configuration about the C=N bond. Intra-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds are formed between the 2-amino-phenyl and imine groups. In the crystal, dimers are formed between mol-ecules linked by inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds from the 2-amino-phenyl group. In addition there are inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds between the amine and carbonyl groups of adjacent mol-ecules. The mol-ecule is twisted rather than planar due to a steric inter-action between the central amide group and the two outer benzene rings. The dihedral angles between this central group and the two rings are 23.29?(9) and 24.96?(9)°.

Project description:The synthesis, spectroscopic data, crystal and mol-ecular structures of two N'-(1-phenyl-benzyl-idene)-2-(thio-phen-3-yl)acetohydrazides, namely N'-[1-(4-hy-droxy-phen-yl)benzyl-idene]-2-(thio-phen-3-yl)acetohydrazide, C13H10N2O2S, (3a), and N'-[1-(4-meth-oxy-phen-yl)benzyl-idene]-2-(thio-phen-3-yl)acetohydrazide, C14H14N2O2S, (3b), are described. Both compounds differ in the substituent at the para position of the phenyl ring: -OH for (3a) and -OCH3 for (3b). In (3a), the thio-phene ring is disordered over two orientations with occupancies of 0.762 (3) and 0.238 (3). The configuration about the C=N bond is E. The thio-phene and phenyl rings are inclined by 84.0 (3) and 87.0 (9)° for the major- and minor-occupancy disorder components in (3a), and by 85.89 (12)° in (3b). Although these dihedral angles are similar, the conformation of the linker between the two rings is different [the C-C-C-N torsion angle is -ac for (3a) and -sc for (3b), while the C6-C7-N9-N10 torsion angle is +ap for (3a) and -sp for (3b)]. A common feature in the crystal packing of (3a) and (3b) is the presence of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, resulting in the formation of chains of mol-ecules running along the b-axis direction in the case of (3a), or inversion dimers for (3b). The most prominent contributions to the surface contacts are those in which H atoms are involved, as confirmed by an analysis of the Hirshfeld surface.

Project description:The title compound, C14H12N4S, was synthesized by the condensation reaction of hydralazine and 2-acetyl-thio-phene and during the reaction, a proton transfer from the imino nitro-gen atom to one of the endocylic nitro-gen atoms occurred. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system with two independent mol-ecules (mol-ecules 1 and 2) in the asymmetric unit. In each mol-ecule, there is a slight difference in the orientation of the thio-phene ring with respect to phthalazine ring system, mol-ecule 1 showing a dihedral angle of 42.51?(1)° compared to 8.48?(1)° in mol-ecule 2. This implies an r.m.s deviation of 0.428?(1)?Å between the two mol-ecules for the 19 non-H atoms. The two independent mol-ecules are connected via two N-H?N hydrogen bonds, forming dimers which inter-act by two bifurcated ?-? stacking inter-actions to build tetra-meric motifs. The latter are packed in the ac plane via weak C-H?? inter-actions and along the b axis via C-H ?N and C-H?? inter-actions. This results a three-dimensional architecture with a tilted herringbone packing mode.
