Draft genome sequences of two novel Aeromonas species recovered in association with cyanobacterial blooms.

ABSTRACT: Aeromonas aquatica and Aeromonas lacus are two new species that have been found in association with cyanobacterial blooms from recreational Finnish lakes where adverse human health effects have been recorded. Here, we present the draft genome sequences of their type strains.

These two strains were deposited at the Collection of Microalgae (IPPAS) of the Timiryazev Institute of Plant Physiology.

Project description:Features from two Pigmentiphaga isolates referred to Canada's National Microbiology Laboratory from human clinical materials were described previously (N. Bridger, S. Drews, T. Burdz, D. Wiebe, A. L. Pacheco, B. Ng, and K. Bernard, J Med Microbiol 62:708-711, 2013, https://doi.org/10.1099/jmm.0.051615-0). Whole-genome sequencing was performed on strains NML030171 and NML080357; the sequences were found to have 5.86 and 5.73 Mb of clean data and G+C contents of 67.5 and 66.74 mol%, respectively.

Draft Genome Sequences of Two Pathogenic Corynebacterial Species Isolated from Cows.

Project description:The species Corynebacterium renale, Corynebacterium pilosum, and Corynebacterium cystitidis were initially thought to be the same species C. renale, but with different immunological types. These bacteria are the causative agent of cystitis, urethritis and pyelonephritis and are found usually as constituents of the normal flora in the lower urogenital tract of cattle. Therefore, we present the draft genome sequences of two pathogenic Corynebacterium species: C. renale CIP 52.96 and C. pilosum CIP 103422. The genome sequences of these species have 2,322,762 bp with 2,218 protein encoding genes and 2,548,014 bp with 2,428 protein encoding genes, respectively. These genomes can help clarify the virulence mechanisms of these unknown bacteria and enable the development of more effective methods for control.

Draft Genome Sequences of Two Isolates of the Yeast Kazachstania servazzii Recovered from Soil in Ireland.

Project description:We sequenced two isolates of Kazachstania servazzii, UCD13 and UCD335, from soil in Ireland. Heterozygosity in these diploid genomes differs 19-fold between the two strains. Most currently available K. servazzii genome sequences come from Korean kimchi isolates, so our data will facilitate analysis of diversity in this species.

Project description:Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Bacillus cereus strain THSB-6-2, which was isolated from cyanobacterial blooms in Lake Taihu, China. The 5,496,658-bp genome assembly of Bacillus cereus consists of 28 contigs, with a GC content of 35% and with 5,587 protein-coding sequences and 58 RNA genes.

In this study, we present draft genome sequences of four Citrobacter isolates obtained from three species of wild Australian shorebirds.
