Crystal structure of (E)-4-{[2-(2,4-di-nitro-phen-yl)hydrazin-1-yl-idene]meth-yl}-3-methyl-1-phenyl-5-(1H-pyrrol-1-yl)-1H-pyrazole.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, C21H17N7O4, is in an 'extended' conformation aided by an intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond. The pyrazole ring makes dihedral angles of 29.17?(6), 65.47?(4) and 9.91?(7)°, respectively, with the phenyl, pyrrole and benzene rings. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected by pairs of N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming inversion dimers which associate into ribbons running along the b axis through complementary C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:In an effort to discover novel and potential boron-dipyrromethene (BODIPY) dyes, the title compound, C(19)H(18)BF(2)N(3)O(2), was prepared from 2,4-dimethyl-pyrrole, 4-nitro-benzaldehyde and BF(3)·Et(2)O in a one-pot reaction. There are two independent mol-ecules, A and B, in the asymmetric unit in which the dihedral angles between the benzene ring and boron-dipyrromethene mean plane have significantly different values [82.71?(8)° for mol-ecule A and 73.16?(8)° for mol-ecule B]. Inter-molecular C-H?? inter-actions help to stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title compound, C(17)H(19)N(5)O(5), obtained from the condensation reaction of 4-diethyl-amino-2-hy-droxy-benzalde-hyde and 2,4-dinitro-phenyl-hydrazine, the two benzene rings are twisted by a dihedral angle of 1.75?(12)°.
