The cytoplasmic peptide:N-glycanase (PNGase; Ngly1 in mice) is a deglycosylating enzyme involved in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-associated degradation (ERAD) process. The precise role of Ngly1 in the ERAD process, however, remains unclear in mammals.
