Complete Genome Sequence of Bifidobacterium kashiwanohense JCM 15439T, Isolated from Feces from a Healthy Japanese Infant.

ABSTRACT: We isolated Bifidobacterium kashiwanohense JCM 15439 from the feces of a healthy Japanese infant and proposed it as the type strain of a novel species within the genus Bifidobacterium. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of this organism.

The draft genome comprises 2.39 Mb, with an average G+C content of 59.2% and 2,028 coding DNA sequences. An operon for gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA) biosynthesis was observed in the draft genome.
