ABSTRACT: The title compound, C13H10ClNS, exhibits a trans conformation with regard to the axis of the C-N bond. The benzene and phenyl rings are inclined to one another by 85.06?(8)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by N-H?S=C hydrogen bonds, forming chains along [001].

Project description:In the title compound, C16H14N3OSCl, a Schiff base derivative of a thio-semicarbazide with a flavanone, the 4-chlorophenyl ring is inclined to the benzene ring of the chromane ring system by 30.72?(12)°. The pyran ring has an envelope conformation with the methine C atom as the flap. The mean plane of the thio-urea unit is twisted with respect to the benzene ring of the chromanone ring system, subtending a dihedral angle of 19.78?(19)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by two pairs of N-H?S hydrogen bonds, forming inversion dimers enclosing R 2 2(8) ring motifs, which are linked to form ribbons propagating along the b-axis direction. The inter-molecular contacts in the crystal have been analysed using Hirshfeld surface analysis.

Project description:In the title pyrazoline derivative, C(14)H(12)ClN(3)S(2), the thiophene ring is disordered over two orientations with a refined site-occupancy ratio of 0.832 (4):0.168 (4). The pyrazoline ring adopts an envelope conformation with the C atom linking the thiophene ring at the flap. The dihedral angles between the benzene ring and the major and minor components of the thiophene ring are 88.6 (3) and 85.6 (15)°, respectively while the dihedral angle between the disorder components of the ring is 3.1 (16)°. The mean plane of the pyrazoline ring makes dihedral angles of 11.86 (13), 80.1 (3) and 83.0 (15)°, respectively, with the benzene ring, and the major and minor components of the thiophene ring. An intra-molecular N(amide)-H⋯N(pyrazoline) hydrogen bond generates an S(5) ring motif. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by weak C-H⋯S and N(amide)-H⋯S inter-actions into a tape along [10[Formula: see text]]. C-H⋯π inter-actions are also observed.
