Crystal structure of trans-dihydrido-bis[tris-(di-methyl-amino)-phosphane-?P]platinum(II).

ABSTRACT: The mol-ecule of the title compound, [PtH2(C6H18N3P)2], has a centrosymmetric square-planar structure in which the Pt(II) atom is bonded to two H and two P atoms in a mutually trans configuration. The Pt(II) atom sits on an inversion center and thus the asymmetric unit contains only half the mol-ecule. The Pt-P and Pt-H distances are 2.2574?(10) and 1.49?(7)?Å, respectively.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Co(NCS)2(C6H8N2)2(H2O)2]·3C6H8N2, the Co(II) cation is coordinated by two terminally N-bound thio-cyanate anions, two water mol-ecules and two 2,6-di-methyl-pyrazine ligands, forming a discrete complex with a slightly distorted octa-hedral N4O2 coordination environment. The asymmetric unit contains one Co(II) cation and three halves of 2,5-di-methyl-pyrazine solvate mol-ecules, all entities being completed by inversion symmetry, as well as one thio-cyanate anion, an aqua ligand and a 2,6-di-methyl-pyrazine ligand, all in general positions. In the crystal, discrete complexes are arranged in a way that cavities are formed where the noncoordinating 2,5-di-methyl-pyrazine mol-ecules are located. The coordination of the latter to the metal is prevented due to the bulky methyl groups in vicinal positions to the N atoms, leading to a preferential coordination through the 2,6-di-methyl-pyrazine ligands. The complex mol-ecules are linked by O-H?N hydrogen bonds between the water H atoms and the N atoms of 2,5-di-methyl-pyrazine solvent mol-ecules, leading to a layered structure extending parallel to (100).

Project description:The crystal structures of the title salts, (C7H11N2)2[Mn(NCS)4] (1) and (C7H11N2)3[Mn(NCS)5] (2), consist of manganese(II) cations that are tetra-hedrally (1) or trigonal-bipyramidally (2) coordinated to four or five terminal N-bonded thio-cyanate ligands, respectively, into discrete anionic complexes. The negative charge is compensated by two (1) or three (2) 4-(di-methyl-amino)-pyridinium cations, which are protonated at the pyridine N atom. The asymmetric unit of compound 1 consists of one anionic complex and two 4-(di-methyl-amino)-pyridinium cations, whereas that of compound 2 consists of two anionic complexes and six 4-(di-methyl-amino)-pyridinium cations, all of them located in general positions. These complexes are linked by N-H?S, C-H?S and C-H?N hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the 4-(di-methyl-amino)-pyridinium cations and the thio-cyanate ligands into three-dimensional network structures.

Project description:In the title compound, [PtCl2(C21H21O3P)2]·2C3H6O, the asymmetric unit contains a Pt(II) ion situated on an inversion center, one chloride anion, one tris-(4-meth-oxy-lphen-yl)phosphane (L) ligand and one acetone solvent mol-ecule. The Pt(II) ion is coordinated by two P atoms [Pt-P = 2.3196?(5)?Å] from two L ligands and two chloride anions [Pt-Cl = 2.3075?(5)?Å] in a distorted square-planar geometry with P-Pt-Cl angles of 88.016?(16) and 91.984?(16)°. The effective cone angle of the phosphane ligand was calculated to be 156°. Weak C-H?O and C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds hold mol-ecules together.

Project description:In the title compound, trans-[PdCl(2){P(4-MeOC(6)H(4))(3)}(2)]·C(7)H(8), the Pd(II) atom lies on a center of symmetry, resulting in a distorted trans-square planar geometry. The Pd-P and Pd-Cl bond lengths are 2.3409?(4) and 2.2981?(4)?Å, respectively. An intra-molecular C-H?Cl hydrogen bond occurs. In the crystal, weak C-H?O inter-actions are observed between the aromatic rings of adjacent mol-ecules. The toluene solvate molecule is equally disordered over two sets of sites.

Project description:Zirconium amides have become increasingly popular and useful due to their widespread use as precursors to other zirconium complexes and their use in the production of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). Herein we report the mol-ecular structure of tris-(di-methyl-amido)-bis-(di-methyl-amine)-zirconium(IV) iodide, [Zr(C2H6N)3(C2H7N)2]I. The bond lengths and bond angles are consistent with a slightly distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry around the metal atom. N?I contacts of 3.6153?(15) and 3.5922?(14)?Å are consistent with the presence of N-H?I inter-actions. These N-H?I inter-actions link the complex cations and iodide anions into extended chains that propagate parallel to the a axis.

Project description:Reaction of m-amino-benzoic acid (MABA), di-ethano-lamine (DEA) and MnCl2·4H2O led to the formation of the title salt, [Mn(C4H11NO2)2](C7H6NO2)2. In the complex cation, the Mn(2+) ion is located on an inversion centre and is coordinated by two symmetry-related tridentate DEA mol-ecules, leading to the formation of a slightly distorted MnN2O4 octa-hedron. The MABA(-) counter-anions are connected to the complex ion by a pair of rather strong O-H?O hydrogen bonds, yielding a 1:2 supra-molecular aggregate. Much weaker N-H?O hydrogen bonds connect neighbouring aggregates into a three-dimensional network structure.

Crystal structure of bis-(N-methyl-N-phenyl-amino)-tris-ulfane.

Project description:The title compound, C14H16N2S3, crystallized with two independent mol-ecules [(1 a ) and (1 b )] in the asymmetric unit. Both mol-ecules display a pseudo-trans conformation. The two consecutive S-S bond lengths of the tris-ulfane unit of mol-ecule (1 a ) are 2.06 (3) and 2.08 (3) Å, and 2.08 (3) and 2.07 (2) Å for mol-ecule (1 b ). Torsion angles about each of the two S-S bonds are 86.6 (2) and 87.0 (2)° for (1 a ), and -84.6 (2) and -85.9 (2)° for (1 b ). The core atoms, viz. the N-S-S-S-N moiety, of the two mol-ecules superimpose well if one is inverted on the other, but the phenyl groups do not. Thus, the two units are essentially conformational enanti-omers. In mol-ecule (1 a ), the two phenyl rings are inclined to one another by 86.7 (3)°, and in mol-ecule (1 b ), by 81.1 (3)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via C-H⋯π inter-actions, forming sheets lying parallel to (010).

Project description:In the title compound, [Ru(C10H10N6)(C7H10N2)3](PF6)2·C4H10O, the Ru(II) cation is coordinated by one tris-(1-pyrazol-yl)methane (Tpm) and three dimethylaminopyridine (dmap) ligands in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The asymmetric unit consists of one complex cation, two hexa-fluorido-phosphate anions and one diethyl ether solvent mol-ecule in general positions. Although quite a large number of ruthenium complexes of the facially coordinating tridentate Tpm ligand have been structurally characterized, this is only the second one containing three pyridyl co-ligands. The average Ru-N(Tpm) distance is 2.059?(12)?Å, while the average Ru-N(dmap) [dmap = 4-(di-methyl-amino)-pyridine] distance is somewhat longer at 2.108?(13)?Å. The orientation of the dmap ligands varies greatly, with dihedral angles between the pyridyl and opposite pyrazolyl rings of 14.3?(2), 23.2?(2) and 61.2?(2)°.

Project description:The dinuclear title compound, [PdCl{Se[(C5H5)Fe(C5H3)2CH2N(CH3)2]}]2 was obtained by the reaction of [PdCl2(NCPh)2] with 2-[(N,N'-di-methyl-amino)-meth-yl]ferro-cene-seleno-late and the crystals for the structure determination were grown from a mixture of THF and n-hexane. Both Pd(II) atoms are coordinated by the bridging Se atoms and by the amino N atoms of the bidentate 2-[(N,N'-di-methyl-amino)-meth-yl]ferrocene-seleno-late ligand, as well as by Cl atoms, and show a distorted square-planar coordination. The angle between the Pd-Se-Se planes of the two Pd atoms is 149.31?(3)°. Weak Cl?H hydrogen bonds link the binuclear complexes into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the dimeric title compound, [Pd2Cl4{P(C8H9)3}2]·CH2Cl2, the metal complex molecule is situated about an inversion centre and is accompanied by a dichloro-methane solvent mol-ecule situated on a twofold rotation axis. The Pd(II) atom has a slightly distorted square-planar coordination sphere. The effective cone angle for the tris-(3,5-dimethyl-phen-yl)phos-phane ligand was calculated to be 169°. In the crystal, the metal complex and solvent mol-ecules are linked via C-H?Cl inter-actions, generating chains along [10-2]. There are also C-H?? and weak ?-? inter-actions present [centroid-centroid distance = 3.990?(2)?Å, plane-plane distance = 3.6352?(15)?Å and ring slippage = 1.644?Å], forming of a three-dimensional structure.
