ABSTRACT: We report here the draft genome sequence of picalivirus D, a member of picalivirus, a picorna-like superfamily, and likely member of the order Picornavirales, assembled from metagenomic sequencing of organisms in San Francisco wastewater. This virus likely constitutes a novel genus within the picalivirus family.

Project description:Ammonia-oxidizing archaea (AOA) play important roles in nitrogen and carbon cycling in marine and terrestrial ecosystems. Here, we present the draft genome sequence for the ammonia-oxidizing archaeon "Candidatus Nitrosopumilus salaria" BD31, which was enriched in culture from sediments of the San Francisco Bay estuary. The genome sequences revealed many similarities to the genome of Nitrosopumilus maritimus.

Project description:We describe the draft genome of a bovine enterovirus (EV) isolate recovered from sewage in Nigeria. This isolate replicates on both RD and L20B cell lines but is negative for all EV screens in use by the Global Poliovirus Eradication Initiative (GPEI). It contains 7,368 nucleotides (nt) with 50.2% G+C content and an open reading frame (ORF) with 6,525 nt (2,174 amino acids).

Draft genome sequence of Paenibacillus sp. EZ-K15 isolated from wastewater systems.

Project description:ObjectivesPaenibacillus species, belonging to the family Paenibacillaceae, are able to survive for long periods under adverse environmental conditions. Several Paenibacillus species produce antimicrobial compounds and are capable of biodegradation of various contaminants; therefore, more investigations at the genomic level are necessary to improve our understanding of their ecology, genetics, as well as potential biotechnological applications.Data descriptionIn the present study, we describe the draft genome sequence of Paenibacillus sp. EZ-K15 that was isolated from nitrocellulose-contaminated wastewater samples. The genome comprises 7,258,662 bp, with a G+C content of 48.6%. This whole genome shotgun project has been deposited at DDBJ/ENA/GenBank under the accession PDHM00000000. Data demonstrated here can be used by other researchers working or studying in the field of whole genome analysis and application of Paenibacillus species in biotechnological processes.

The genome sequence revealed many similarities to the previously sequenced genome of "Ca. Nitrosoarchaeum limnia" SFB1 (enriched from a nearby site in San Francisco Bay) and is representative of a clade of ammonia-oxidizing archaea (AOA) found in low-salinity habitats worldwide.

The whole-genome sequence of S. daejeonensis strain NLF4-10 was analyzed using the Pacific Biosciences Sequel and Illumina NovaSeq sequencing platforms. The genome comprises a 3,655,148 bp chromosome with a GC content of 68%, 3,274 coding DNA sequences (CDSs), 59 transfer RNAs (tRNAs), and 4 noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs).

Draft genome of <i>Paraburkholderia fungorum</i> sequence type 868 recovered from human synovial tissues.

Project description:Paraburkholderia fungorum is an opportunistic bacteria infrequently associated with human infections. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of P. fungorum strain BF370, recovered from the synovial tissue of a patient in Malaysia. The P. fungorum genome contains a 8,950,957 bp chromosome with a G+C content of 61.8%. Colicin and heavy metal resistant genes were also present in the genome. Conserved sequence indels unique to P. fungorum were observed in the genome. The draft genome was deposited at the European Nucleotide Archive under the sample accession number ERS1776561 and study accession number PRJEB17921.
