Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) is a mammalian NAD(+)-dependent protein deacetylase that regulates cellular metabolism and inflammatory response. The organ-specific deletion of SIRT1 induces local inflammation and insulin resistance in dietary and genetic obesity.
