Crystal structure of (ferrocenylmeth-yl)di-methyl-ammonium hydrogen oxalate.

ABSTRACT: The crystal structure of the title salt, [Fe(C5H5)(C8H13N)](HC2O4), consists of discrete (ferrocenylmeth-yl)di-methyl-ammonium cations and hydrogen oxalate anions. The anions are connected through a strong O-H?O hydrogen bond, forming linear chains running parallel to [100]. The cations are linked to the anions through bifurcated N-H?(O,O') hydrogen bonds. Weak C-H?? inter-actions between neighbouring ferrocenyl moieties are also observed.

Project description:Single crystals of the title salt, Me2NH2 (+)·HC2O4 (-)·0.5H2C2O4, were isolated as a side product from the reaction involving Me2NH, H2C2O4 and Sn(n-Bu)3Cl in a 1:2 ratio in methanol or by the reaction of the (Me2NH2)2C2O4 salt and Sn(CH3)3Cl in a 2:1 ratio in ethanol. The asymmetric unit comprises a di-methyl-ammonium cation (Me2NH2 (+)), an hydrogenoxalate anion (HC2O4 (-)), and half a mol-ecule of oxalic acid (H2C2O4) situated about an inversion center. From a supra-molecular point of view, the three components inter-act together via hydrogen bonding. The Me2NH2 (+) cations and the HC2O4 (-) anions are in close proximity through bifurcated N-H?(O,O) hydrogen bonds, while the HC2O4 (-) anions are organized into infinite chains via O-H?O hydrogen bonds, propagating along the a-axis direction. In addition, the oxalic acid (H2C2O4) mol-ecules play the role of connectors between these chains. Both the carbonyl and hydroxyl groups of each diacid are involved in four inter-molecular inter-actions with two Me2NH2 (+) and two HC2O4 (-) ions of four distinct polymeric chains, via two N-H?O and two O-H?O hydrogen bonds, respectively. The resulting mol-ecular assembly can be viewed as a two-dimensional bilayer-like arrangement lying parallel to (010), and reinforced by a C-H?O hydrogen bond.

Project description:In the title hydrated mol-ecular salt, C4H12N(+)·C2HO4 (-)·0.5H2O, the O atom of the water mol-ecule lies on a crystallographic twofold axis. The dihedral angle between the CO2 and CO2H planes of the anion is 18.47?(8)°. In the crystal, the anions are connected to each other by strong near-linear O-H?O hydrogen bonds. The water mol-ecules are located between the chains of anions and iso-butyl-amine cations; their O atoms participate as donors and acceptors, respectively, in O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds, which form channels (dimensions = 4.615 and 3.387?Å) arranged parallel to [010].

Project description:Individual ions and the solvating water mol-ecule constituting the structure of the title compound, [Fe(C8H13N)(C17H14P)]Cl·H2O, assemble into dimeric units located around crystallographic inversion centers via N-H⋯Cl and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds. These discrete fragments are further inter-connected into chains by C-H⋯O inter-actions. The disubstituted ferrocene core in the {[1'-(di-phenyl-phosphino)ferrocen-yl]meth-yl}di-methyl-ammonium cation has an approximate synclinal eclipsed conformation and is tilted by 3.40 (11)°.

(Di-methyl-phosphor-yl)methanaminium hydrogen oxalate-oxalic acid (2/1).

Project description:The reaction of (di-methyl-phosphor-yl)methanamine (dpma) with oxalic acid in ethanol yielded the title solvated salt, C3H11NOP(+)·C2HO4 (-)·0.5C2H2O4. Its asymmetric unit consists of one dpmaH(+) cation, one hydrogen oxalate anion and a half-mol-ecule of oxalic acid located around a twofold rotation axis. The H atom of the hydrogen oxalate anion is statistically disordered over two positions that are trans to each other. The hydrogen oxalate monoanion is not planar (bend angle ∼16°) whereas the oxalic acid molecule shows a significantly smaller bend angle (∼7°). In the crystal, the components are connected by strong O-H⋯O and much weaker N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, leading to the formation of layers extending parallel to (001). The structure was refined from a racemically twinned crystal with twin components in an approximate 1:1 ratio.

The six-membered cyclo-hexane ring of the cation adopts a slightly distorted chair conformation and carries OH and 3-meth-oxy-phenyl substituents at the 2-position and a protonated methyl-aza-niumylmethyl group at the 3-position. In addition, a weak intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bond is observed in the cation. In the crystal, weak O-H?O, N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the components into chains along [010]. A C-H?? contact is also observed.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title salt, C8H12N(+)·C4H3O4 (-), consists of a 2,5-di-methyl-anilinium cation and an hydrogen maleate anion. In the anion, a strong intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond is observed, leading to an S(7) graph-set motif. In the crystal, the cations and anions pack in alternating layers parallel to (001). The ammonium group undergoes inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions with the O atoms of three different hydrogen maleate anions. This results in the formation of ribbons extending parallel to [010] with hydrogen-bonding motifs of the types R (4) 4(12) and R (4) 4(18).

Project description:The title compound, (C2H8N)(C7H11N2)[PbCl4], is a hybrid organic-inorganic material. It crystallizes in the space group C2/c and contains one half of a mol-ecule of lead chloride, 4-(di-methyl-amino)-pyridinium, and di-methyl-ammonium in the asymmetric unit. The crystal structure exhibits chains of lead chloride capped by 4-(di-methyl-amino)-pyridinium and di-methyl-ammoium by hydrogen bonding. This creates a one-dimensional zipper-like structure down the a axis. The crystal structure is examined and compared to a similar structure containing lead chloride and di-methyl-benzene-1,4-diaminium.

Crystal structure of bis-(allyl-ammonium) oxalate.

Project description:The title salt, 2C3H8N(+)·C2O4 (2-), crystallized with six independent allyl-ammonium cations and three independent oxalate dianions in the asymmetric unit. One of the oxalate dianions is nearly planar [dihedral angle between CO2 planes = 1.91?(19)°], while the other two are twisted with angles of 11.3?(3) and 26.09?(13)°. One cation has a synperiplanar (cis) conformation with an N-C-C-C torsion angle of 0.9?(3)°, whereas the five remaining cations are characterized by gauche arrangements, with the N-C-C-C torsion angles ranging from 115.9?(12) to 128.8?(3)°. One of the allyl-ammonium cations is positionally disordered (fixed occupancy ratio = 0.45:0.55). In the crystal, the cations and anions are connected by a number of strong N-H?O and N-H?(O,O) hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to (001), with the vinyl groups protruding into the space between the layers.
