ABSTRACT: Metal templation by condensation of 2,3-diaminophenazine with 3,5-di-tert-butyl-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde around the metal centers [M = Cu(II), and UO2(VI)] affords a new class of M[di-tert-butyl salphenazine] metal complexes. Reported here is the synthesis, single crystal X-ray structural characterization, electronic spectroscopy, and microfluidic detection of the formation of these M[di-tert-butyl sal-phenazine] complexes.
