APOBEC (Apolipoprotein B mRNA editing enzyme, catalytic polypeptide-like) enzymes may involve in mutagenic processes in multiple cancer types, including lung cancer. APOBEC family of cytidine deaminases induces base substitutions with a stringent TCW motif, which is widespread in multiple human cancers.
