<h4>Purpose</h4>Papilion-Lefèvre syndrome (PLS) is a rare autosomal recessive disorder that involves palmoplantar keratosis (PK) and severe aggressive periodontitis. Cathepsin C (CTSC) gene mutations are etiologic for PLS, with more than 60 different mutations reported in different ethnic groups worldwide.
