Two Serious Cases of Infection with Clostridium celatum after 40 Years in Hiding?


ABSTRACT: Clostridium celatum [ce.la'tum. L. adj. celatum hidden] has been known since 1974, when it was isolated from human feces. In 40 years, no association with human infection has been reported. In this work, we present two serious cases of infection with the anaerobic Gram-positive rod Clostridium celatum.
