Crystal structure of 2-[9-(2-hy-droxy-phen-yl)-1,8-dioxo-1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10-deca-hydro-acridin-10-yl]acetic acid.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, C21H21NO5, crystallizes with two mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. In each mol-ecule, the central 1,4-di-hydro-pyridine ring adopts a shallow sofa conformations (with the C atom bearing the phenol ring as the flap), whereas the pendant cyclo-hexene rings both have twisted-boat conformations. Each mol-ecule features an intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond, which closes an S(8) ring. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked by O-H⋯O, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π inter-actions, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, C23H24BrNO5, the central 1,4-di-hydro-pyridine ring of the 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10-deca-hydro-acridine ring system adopts a half-chair conformation. The two cyclo-hexene rings fused to the central ring both have a twisted-boat conformation. The mean planes of the bromo-hydroxy-phenyl ring and the major and minor components of the disordered ethyl amino-acetate moiety make dihedral angles of 78.99 (12), 85.9 (2) and 88.3 (9)°, respectively, with the 1,4-di-hydro-pyridine ring. The terminal ethyl group of the ethyl amino-acetate moiety is disordered over two sets of sites with refined occupancies of 0.768 (17) and 0.232 (17). The mol-ecular conformation is stabilized by an intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond, forming an S(8) ring motif. In the crystal, C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect the mol-ecules into layers parallel to (001), enclosing R 1 (2)(7) ring motifs.

Project description:The dihydro-pyridine ring in the title compound, C(25)H(31)NO(4), adopts an envelope conformation with the methine C atom representing the flap. The cyclo-hexenone rings also adopt envelope conformations with the C atoms bearing the methyl C atoms representing the flaps. The phenolic hy-droxy group forms an intra-molecular hydrogen bond to one of the two keto O atoms. The hy-droxy group of the N-bonded alkyl chain forms an inter-molecular hydrogen bond to the other keto O atom of an adjacent mol-ecule. The latter hydrogen bond leads to the formation of a helical chain running along the b axis.

In the former substituent, the six-membered xanthenyl ring adopts a flattened envelope conformation (with the methine C atom as the flap) while in the latter, the six-membered xanthenyl ring adopts a twisted envelope conformation (with the C atom bearing the hy-droxy group representing the flap). The hy-droxy H atom forms an intra-molecular hydrogen bond to the pyridyl N atom. An ethanol solvent mol-ecule is disordered with respect to a water mol-ecule in a 1:1 ratio. The water mol-ecule itself is disordered over two positions of equal occupancy.

Project description:In the title compound, C27H33NO5, a 3,3,6,6-tetra-methyl-tetra-hydro-acridine-1,8-dione ring system carries an ethyl acetate substituent on the acridine N atom and an o-hy-droxy-phenyl ring on the central methine C atom of the di-hydro-pyridine ring. The benzene ring is inclined to the acridine ring system at an angle of 80.45 (7)° and this conformation is stabilized by an intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond between the hy-droxy substituent on the benzene ring and one of the carbonyl groups of the acridinedione unit. The ester C=O oxygen atom is disordered over major and minor orientations in a 0.777 (9):0.223 (9) ratio and the terminal -CH3 unit of the ethyl side chain is disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.725 (5): 0.275 (5) ratio. In the crystal, C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds combine to link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network. van der Waals H⋯H contacts contribute the most to the Hirshfeld surface (66.9%) followed by O⋯H/H⋯O (22.1%) contacts associated with weak hydrogen bonds.

In one mol-ecule, the benzene ring and an attached meth-oxy group were refined as disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.65 (4): 0.35 (4) ratio. In both mol-ecules, the central ring of the acridinedione system adopts a flattened boat conformation. The four essentially planar atoms of this ring [maximum deviations = 0.006 (5) Å in both mol-ecules] forms dihedral angles of 86.8 (2) and 87.6 (2)°, respectively, with the major and minor components in the disordered benzene ring and 87.3 (2)° with the benzene ring in the fully ordered mol-ecule. The two outer rings of the acridinedione system adopt sofa conformations in both mol-ecules. In the crystal, N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds form two independent chains along [100]. C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the chains, forming a three-dimensional network.
