Crystal structure of piperazine-1,4-diium bis-(4-amino-benzene-sulfonate).

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title salt, C4H12N2 (2+)·2C6H6NO3S(-), consists of half a piperazindiium dication, located about an inversion centre, and a 4-amino-benzene-sulfonate anion. The piperazine ring adopts a chair conformation. In the crystal, the cations and anions are linked via N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional framework. Within the framework there are C-H⋯π inter-actions and the N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds result in the formation of R 4 (4)(22) and R 3 (4)(13) ring motifs.
