Elevated levels of C-reactive protein (CRP) partially induced by polymorphisms in the CRP gene have been associated with human cancer. The purpose of this study was to test the hypothesis that CRP gene polymorphisms (+942G>C, 1846C>T) modify inherited susceptibility to cancer. We systematically identified the publications addressing the association of CRP gene polymorphisms with cancer susceptibility.
